just use a box cutter/knife.. and slowly score across the trace

use a multimeter to measure between the chip and the mosfet, once you have no connection on the multi you will have cut the trace.

Man you better have a steady hand with that dremel. Better try an engraver instead.

and dont go to deep cause the board is multiplayered and there are other traces under it

you're asking for trouble even putting a moving dremel near your mobo, forget about cutting traces with it. You're much better off with an excato or somthing, theres just too much insanity involved with dremels. (And no, I'm not a big dremel n00b, I'm actually quite good with it, but it just doesn't belong near tiny traces and sensitive equipment)

However, if you wanted to go out and spend $40+ on a dremel and then another $5 on the small engraver attachments you could probably do it, but I'm pretty sure theres just a "couple" better uses for your money.

The dremel is actually easier to use than a knife..

I couldn't get a good enough cut with a knife.. quick pass with the dremel and I was done.

Bit risky IMO.

But I did have a duron that I wanted to cut a bridge on that only the dremel would manage, even then it made some nice sparks :O

You're best off just staring at the case for a long time, and thinking of some sort of theme, and then drawing out a couple different ideas on paper. Then practice dremeling until you are good at it, use old cases and wear googles. If you want more advice, I can deffintely give it. Just don't want to type out a ton of crap for no reason.:p:

(some of my work, before sanding down the edges, or painting)
