So you guessed it, heres my i7. Its going to be a quick build as i need it up by next week

Specs

CPU: i7 920 (hopefully @ 4+)
MOBO: Asus P6T Deluxe
RAM: G.Skill 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
VIDCARD: Asus 4870 1GB
PSU: Corsair HX1000W Psu
HDD: 4x WD Caviar Black 1TB
1x WD VelociRaptor 300GB
ROM: Samsung 22x DVD
CASE: MountainMods Pinnacle 18

Cooling:

EK Supreme
Swiftech 4870 block
Swiftech MCR320, MCR220 w/ Yate Loon D12SH-12
DDC 3.2 w/ XSPC top
1/2 ID x 3/4 OD Tygon R3603
1/2" BP fittings

Ill get as many pics as possible, but ill be building at work so might not be as many as i would like but for sure ill get the final shots.

most everything has came in today, all but my sidewinder order.
the pinnacle is 80% done, much lighter then i expected but very
good quality, there were some parts that were obviously grinded
out to make the construction correct b/c of the powder coating
and alot of sharpie touch ups but over all very nice. One thing that
i did noticed was that the 5.25" drive is very very tight, i had the
hardest time getting my rom on that thing, might be the powder
coating but its tight.

this is all for today but for sure ill get more pics and log while i go next week

Cool build. Will follow this one with interest. I posted my i7 build a couple weeks ago. I finally got the CPU last week. I'm waiting on some parts that aren't avilable yet though. RAM is one of them. I also am gonna run mine on air for a bit before setting up my water loop. You'll be done before I get all my parts in. I may be able to get mine running on air maybe in a week or two. It really depends on when Corsair releases those new Dominator Kits. That's the thing that's holding me up.

Yea its black wrinkle, and you can still see finger prints as the finish is still very glossy, i first thought that it was errors in the finish but turned out to be finger prints.

@everyone else:

Thanks for the support, more to come.

does anyone know why i would get this error message?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811998049

i had to drill some additional holes to make it fit. which includes the cage and the 5.25" bay assembly. you should be about to see where i drilled the 5.25" bay to make it fit.

Damn I like those power cables that are connecting your peripherals drives. That Corsair PSU comes like that? or it is that you can adjust them? or modded?

The PSU did come with the cable, but i did manually adjust them to fit

Oh nice. I was looking to watercool my i7 rig with the same case.....or the 24. Cant decide. So yea I'll be watching this thread.

the decision between the 18 and the 24 should be based upon how your liquid cooling system is going to work. if you just want a single 3x 120mm fan rad in the front get the 18, but if you want a 3x 120mm fan uptop youll have to get a 24 or move your rom drive to the lowest bay.

Pretty darn nice m8! Can't wait for the Liquid cooling to begin! :D

Me too, the rest of the stuff should be here tomorrow

Hey Evil, I have a question. For mounting the rad did you use the fan screws from MM? If so did you have to cut them so it wont puncture the rad? Thanks!

I was thinking the Pinnacle 24 but after seeing your 18 i may
go with it. Wasnt sure if my pa120.3 would give enough room
in the front, but from your pics i think the 18 will do just fine.

Or maybe the Monticle 24.?

Hey evil couple of question for you:
1- What material are you using in the bottom of the case ( I know its a dampening material... but more specific which "brand" and if it comes in that specific height )
2- And what is the length of those black "SATA II" cables 24" or 36" inches...

Thanks in advance...

not really sound dampening material, just needed something to absorb some vibrations, and going to use some 3/4"OD x 1/2ID" Tygon R3603

The Monticle looks really nice, and so does the Pinnacle either way as long as you got enough space it will be great.

1. Lets see, Corsar HX1000 packaging foam. im just using it help absorb vibrations

2. those are 36" cables

Abit knows how to make a beautiful mainboard when they put their minds to it. Most of their Max boards were aesthetically designed well. The AW9D was the best.

they are not necessary and to be honest they dont fit all that well, but it gives me a piece of mind knowing that the fitting is being screwed into the correct thread sizes. but they are definitely not necessary

thoses are just some black oxide standard socket cap screws ordered through MM, you can pretty much get those at any hardware stores, www.mcmaster.com is a great place for that kinda of stuff or you can just order thought MM which is nicely priced as well

What exactly can you fit in there? a box of chocolate?

Fans, a feser quad-rad if it fits. (pinnacle 24)
4,5" should fit.. but i want to know for sure :)

4,5 inch is around 11 cm.
6cm for the rad, 2,5cm for the fan.. leaves 2,5cm for the 90-fitting and 3cm is required. So it wont fit the fittings at the psu side... but maybe at the drive bay side (with 1 dvd-drive).

Very nice. Everything is set up the best way.
Though why did you put so many exhaust fans?
Unless you want them to work at very low speed.
Your PSU will stragle to find any air and might get hot and noisy.
I suppose I would turn the PSU upside down so that the big fan gets fresh air from the outside.
All you need is to make a hole to the right side panel.

Hi evil, first off sorry for the up on your topic. I'd like to know what HDD cage are you using for these 4 HD's there. Also, there are 10 fans in the case, right? How did you turn on all of them? Thanks.

Hey s3rv3r;

the HHD cage is a Scythe Hard Driver Stabilizer with a few modifications

http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/schadistx4sp.html
http://us.st12.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/sidewindercomputers_2028_7642885

and yes there are 10 fans, are all running in sets of 3's and 2's

the top 2 fans are wired in parallel as well as the 6 in the front in two sets of 3's and the 2 exhaust fans are running in parallel. so at the end there are 4 headers to plug in and all 10 fans are running. also makes it easy to control each set.
