Does anyone here have this laptop? I just purchased one from the Dell outlet site for $569 with a 2.4ghz CPU, 2gb memory and a 250gb 5400rpm HD...considering the specs, it seemed like a good buy so I got it. I'm hoping to get some feedback on it from anyone who may have it or used it here. I'm not into gaming on laptops and portability is important to me so the 13.3 screen size is perfect for me. I do use my laptops for photo editing so I think the CPU will work well for that. I plan on upgrading the memory to 4gb (G.Skill has a great 4-4-4 DDR2-667 kit on Newegg for $55).

I also just saw that 320gb 7200rpm HDs are only $99! Prices on laptop hardware has come down quite a bit lately.

I have the M1330, the premium version of the Inspiron. I really like it. I actually think I'll be moving from TO a 5400rpm drive as 7200rpm can't be helping the battery life (which turned out to be probably my biggest concern).

5400 rpm drives are so freaking slow though. The hard drive is the bottleneck so why decrease its speed?

I upgraded my Hd to the WD black 320gb 7200rpm Hd and it has made a huge impact on performance...the laptop just feels so much faster. loading times have gotten much better and virus scans seem to finish faster too. This particular HD doesn't get hot either. Actually, the 250gb 5400rpm drive was hotter than the 7200rpm one I replaced it with.

inspirons are kind of like the low end dell model. I would shoot for the xps series

why dont you either buy a more powerful battery or even buy an external one?
