Thats a joke right . ?
1:2 ratio means memory is 2 times the speed of the fsb
if your fsb is 333 then ram is 666 1:2

Correct, so since you can change the FSB at 1mhz intervals, 333FSb-334FSB, you impact memory mhz in 2mhz intervals.

I have three sets of Gkx and two gmh, what i lack is a memory freindly motherboard for ddr2.
My Commando dont like over 600 on memory, no matter cas and volt.
But verry sure i will buy one of the three boards thats allowed in the competition.
What chip is superior to high cas, and Hz, gmh or gkx, time will tell.
My guess for a winner brand would be Team or crucial.

i just got 2 new kits of D9GMH and one new kit of D9GKX. I'm willing to enter but i'm a little unsure since i never did something like this.

i know what 1:2 ratios means but why only 1:2?

does the cas level makes a difference? Must it be 5-5-5-18 or can we use whateva achieves stability or is at least fit for validation.

I only have to validate via CPUZ? So i don't need to run a benchmark like super pi to show of a glimce of stability?

Sorry i'm german and really old.

And yeah is there a thread from fugger of vapor about there record where i can read a little how they achieved it, cause i can't find it even though i googled.

Vivi
11-17-2008, 09:41 AM
No problem sir :D
Its Dual channel DDR2. i think the 1:2 ratio is one of the believalbe ratios to use. some ratios reads "750mhz" in cpu-z but your actually mmemory speed is only like 600. thats an example. Just a validation. and a screenshot of the validation accepted.

Here u can read more
http://ddr2-1508.gigabyte.com.tw/

Goodluck :)

d.j.s.
11-17-2008, 10:18 AM
Well it would be very hard to get any other ratio than 1:2 upto 1500 + speeds since your average stock chip used for this type activity is already 333. so at a 375 bus with ram @ 1500 its 1:2 since you can only run 2.00d in 400 strap on p45 this is the only logical answer.

redratamd
11-17-2008, 10:33 AM
1:2 it's not available on strap 400 . I use F5 , i haven't test others bios ( just F4 Pi is the same thing for ocing your memory )
I've tested some ratio . There's just the 3:5 divider on strap 400 with a bug . The others are alright . I check with cpu-z 1.45 .
My best score is done with 1:2 strap 333 . But one of ballistix is dead ( :D too much voltage ) . 800MHz seem possible with 1:2 strap 333 and 5-5-5-15 LP 9 . ;) It's not so far just some MHz and a new kit now :( One month and few days for try .

Elektrosadist
11-17-2008, 10:43 AM
yeah i notice it's hard to hit a high frequency on the ud3p. I couldn't go past 700MHz into windows. But then again i got the microns now for 4 days and i'm not sure how much voltage them biatches need. And my Mobo reacts stupid when i set a high nb voltage cuz then he doesn't want to boot.

I read that at the gigabyte site but i wasn't sure if a vali screen was enough or if you also must test stability somehow but thx anyways.

Also how do D9GMH and D9GKX react to a superb cooling? I'm thinking of creating another water circuit and let icewater run through the rams coolers while going for the score.

d.j.s.
11-17-2008, 10:45 AM
Im using a diff series with a diff bios but p45 and before f9 I couldnt get squat, now I have all my ram and ratios all avail
and so far , this is the best ram OCing board I have ever used in my life , its got those cheap dhx c5 corsairs running
1150 1:1 on 2.00d 400

I suspect we will see a ton of people pulling 400 fsb 1600 ddr2 under ln2 or DiCe then the 1:2 would kick in on the 2.00d
but yeah this is the arena for pushing ddr2 waaaay hard. P45 FTW.

Elektrosadist
11-17-2008, 10:47 AM

11-19-2008, 12:10 PM
When I talked to them, they said they were aware of the 3:5 problem and anyone submitting using it will be asked to resubmit on a different ratio. They probably can't verify anything at the time of submission, so it might be up for now, but I imagine it will be DQ'd when they get around to it. It's not nearly fast enough to win anyway :p:

i dont think these entries should be accepted as they are not really true dual channel runs

boostedevo
11-19-2008, 07:14 PM
Why aren't they true dual channel runs? By your thinking, that one I post must've been run with no sticks then? :)

The slot info is just DIMM info which the validation isn't reading due to instability, doesn't mean the sticks aren't there. IMHO, the important part is the RAM section where it says DDR2 Dual Channel (or Single Channel). Regardless of what the slot info says (or doesn't say), I don't think there's any way to fake the number of channels since it's set at boot

Light those sticks up :) I'll bet they do 700 in this board...does crazy stuff with mem. I dropped my 6400C3s in and they booted to the desktop 600 4-4-4-8 with 2.4V. I also had 4 sticks running 666MHz 5-5-5 at just 2.2V too, which really impressed me.

Mine's doing the same thing. When it does, I'm barely able to get the validation, then the crash.Same here, kind of. I can get a validation file higher, but when I try to submit, it's corrupted and I get the "please update CPU-Z..." I have to just keeping validating every couple FSB until it locks/reboots and then try to submit and see what worked :D

It doesn't have anything to do with whether it's dual channel or single channel. It's dual channel, it's just so unstable that CPU-Z can't read the SPD info off of the RAM. It captures the speed and the fact that it's dual channel from the northbridge just fine.

Ok super sigh...
Qualifications
"
If you are minor under the age of 18, you must first obtain the consent of your parent or legal guardian before entering the Competition. GIGABYTE Technology assumes that by entering the Competition (and you warrant that) either you have legal capacity to enter the Competition and agree to the Rules (i.e. that you are of sufficient age and mental capacity and are entitled to be legally bound in contract) or your parents or legal guardian have consented to your entry of the Competition and you to be bound by these Rules.

Persons employed by or in a similar relation to GIGABYTE Technology, their subsidiaries or to companies participating on the preparation and organization of the whole Competition as well as members of their families, are nonetheless excluded from participation."

They basically say, persons under 18 arent honest enough cause they are young. and i understand that (im 17) but there is no where where u can send your perants concent.. great :(
im gonna struggle getting that one up..

Vivi
11-23-2008, 09:23 AM
Oh i see now, i just have to ask my parents "can i enter" and then enter as 18 years old? right?

No Vmod for the moment . Just 1.62V VMCH & 3V VDimm & LP 10 .

Picture of memory (http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/1865/p1010448sn2.jpg)

Edit :

1680MHz under DI (http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=501658)

Always no Vmod but 3.04V bios & 1.66V VMCH and some windows tweaks .

Just for the fun a run @800MHz 5-5-5-15 TrFC 60 LP9 (http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/1259/screen023gd6.jpg)
Don't look the time . :D Tweaks ,it's for a memory frequency not for the performance .

How did they go dead? Dont boot? Died becuase of 3V Vdimm? How long were they exposed to that voltage before dying? Or did the get wet?

Not installed ( everest & sandra ) on this hdd ,sorry. But Giga it's not faster .

:D RIP too

Every bios ,every settings 2.9V same results with 6 different sticks single or dual ,different slot . Any multiplicater ,any CPU . I've tried to put some sticks direct on the NB hs . Same results . 840MHz . I've tried 5:8 in strap 333MHz ,835MHz.
I think that's the mobo limit . I do 810MHz on air , 820MHz with my icy air spray ( around - 40°C ) and 840MHz under DI .
Maybee flash the bios for an UD3R ,they are on podium . Maybee better .
I will do that just before the limit date .

guys i have the same problem with validation files that get rejected..

i found this:

http://forum.canardpc.com/showthread.php?t=32274

That seems to be the awnser for my situation, because i uploaded a 5ghz validation, and all my other validations that were lower (because of FSB testing) were rejected..

so it seems you have to wait for at least 5 minuts between each submission..
