That looks like a great paint job! Did you drill out the rivets and paint each part individually or did you paint the chassis as a whole?

At my work we have a professional paint shop, I bring it at 9h am in the morning and at 12h30 pm she was already dry, people are really amazing there, it save me money and a lot of time. And no I did not even touch the rivets, they paint it as a whole.

When I came back home with my new flat black Cosmos S I was really happy with the result until I put the back door in place, I notice that you can see aluminum through the cable management hole, I decide to get some flat black paint for my work and fix this small problem.
Here some picture from before and after.

Since I and going Liquid for the first time, I don't need the huge side window fan. So I install a side window instead. This is my first any only mistake as of now, the window is awesome but when I use the screw to fix the window I put a little to much force and make little mark on the outside. If they after time annoyed me too much I will certainly buy a new door.

I am in the process of sleeving my PSU cables, the only ones remaning are the SATA's. I need to decide my HDD configurations. I got 2 X 74Gig Raptors + 3 drives for storage 1 X 1TB, 1 X 500GB and 1 X 250GB.

The way I was planing it is like shown in the next picture, use the drive cage for my two Raptors and leave some space between for air flow.

But I only have two 3.5" to 2.5" bracket at hand, I was finally thinking about placing 4 HDD in the cage, do you think it will really hurt temp to compare to having only the two Raptors like shown in the picture?

Should be OK so long as they can still get some air. HDD's prefer a bit of warmth anyway (helps the mechs or something if I recall...)

I am not really sure about the pump position, I have a couple of idea, but 1 thing is sure, the pump is going to sit on one of your nice brackets, I already order it from Petra's.

You need a molex extractor, I found one at work, if you want one this is the exact same one that I have ---> http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=60_143_272&products_id=894

P.S. Look in my next post there going to be more sleeving.

Another update, this one will get this worklog up to par with my own work, the picture and update will start to flow a little bit slower than the last days.

Here some picture from the sleeving of my PSU, I was not satisfied with the company sleeving so I redo the job..
I even choose to void the warranty and open it, this way the final result for sleeving will look really better than with shrink wrap.
I am still in this long process, tomorrow I will start the sata power cables, change the positions of connectors and sleeving.

I also think about replacing the internal fan of the OCZ 700W PSU, the LED on this fan are blue, I will be really ugly with my new theme.

Here the pictures...

Small Update...

2 of my orders arrived today, again not huge packages but in the end I will have everything needed. In the beginning of this project I was not suppose to change any hardware in my current rig, but like every time I say that I will not do something it always append anyways..
I found a nice price for CORSAIR DOMINATOR 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 1066, so I order this kit to replace my 4 X 1GB CORSAIR XMS2 DDR2 800.
It's going to be a small upgrade performance wise but I have now room for 2 X 2GB in the near future. I also found the fans mounting attracting, and even more after a bit of modding, RED fans and removing blue stickers.

I also receive 5 X Scythe 120x25mm SlipStream - 110 CFM, 3 of them for push on my rad and 2 extras.

K thanks. A video probably won't help me because I don't have a sound card for my computer (waiting for Hanukkah ), but if you could just compare it to some other household items, or just your overall opinion would probably be fine. Thanks a bunch!!!

Ah - Fans are a mistake - they get louder when you put them on rads and they're NOT 110CFM. I nearly bought these and saw test results. Quickly changed my mind.

One bracket came with the Cosmos S and the other one is from my old Antec Nine Hundred.

I just finish sleeving my PSU, I did all the cables except for the two molex. I am really happy with the result since this was my first attempt at sleeving, the next PSU will look even better. Just before closing the PSU I cut the small cables on the fan for the LED's. I don't have the time to test it tonight but I hope everything is still fine..

Here the final picture of this long lasting side project.

Another small update!

Tonight I take some time to try to figure out my loop order and parts position, I also install the 3 Scythe 120x25mm SlipStream - 110 CFM, these will do the push in my push/pull from inside the case. I grab some neoprene from work and made myself some gaskets for these fans, they are far from perfect but it will do the job for free.

I also try to be sure it will fin inside the case, it fit but it almost push down on the stock heat sink of my Asus P5E Deluxe, I hope when fix with screw that the rad will not push too much on the MB.

Here some pics of my fans installation and again a little bit of sleeving.

I also go to the hardware shop to buy some M4 screws to fix the rad and the 38mm fans to the top of the case, I still need to cut them at the proper length.

Interesting, but if you look closely it's not the same fan as the one tested, here the list from the testing you post.

Fan 1) Scythe S-Flex E (1200RPM)
Fan 2) Scythe Slip Stream M (1200RPM)
Fan 3) Yate Loon D12SL-12 (1350RPM)
Fan 4) Noctua P12 (retail sample, 1300RPM)
Fan 5) Noctua P12 (review sample, 1300RPM)
Fan 6) San Ace 109R1212H1011 @ 5V (yes, only 5V results in this test--no clue what RPM it's at )

And here 2 pics form my actual fans, the ones in the testing are 1200RPM compare to 1900RPM for the ones I have.

True but I do have it somewhere - because I nearly bought these fans myself for my builds and then got told to get lost because they weren't what they cracked up to be or what they said on the box :(

Either way "110CFM + 37DB = Defying the laws of Physics" as it was put simply to me :P

In the end I went with the Zalman F3's because I could get them ~£4 each and although they weren't the strongest, they were nice and quiet compared to the Thunderblades

It make the job less painful..

You use that one? I thought that was for the ATX connector only.

You need to be really careful with the tool, I almost break mine two times. You need to be able to fit the two side of the tool on the same side of the connector and push on the small retaining pin, then I do the same thing with the other retaining pin on the other side of the connector.

Sorry for my bad English, I try my best to explain myself.

Since i saw the pictures - put your fan on top of the rad, like here - http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/4748/img0153jp3.jpg

I confirm, that it's better instead of "push" setup. Or, the screws are long enought to put the fans between rad and case (:

Hi Dave,

I already know how to remove them, I was not sure about painting them since it's a push button I don't want the paint to get removed when I used the button.
When you paint them did you paint only the round button or the full plastic part? I was thinking about painting the full blue plastic piece.

In mine I have a 220 rad mounted to the bottom and I'm gonna build a shroud but not for the rad but the entire bottom of the case that will go from power supply to the front wall and I'll paint it a color of my chosing then I can route all the wires thru there and not care what it looks like till it exits the shroud... but let me know how you go about yours...

Having hot air in the case isn't right, unless you suck it out somehow. Are you gonna use the side-panel-fan and in which direction? The hot air from the rad will direct affect the MOSFET temps and the NB temps.

After almost a month I finally boot my first liquid rig!:D Here a quick picture of the working rig.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v179/short114/Liquid_20081120_001.jpg

Everything work the first time, the only thing I changed was to adjust my Dominator speed to 1066 in the bios. For a newbie I was impress with the temp drop, with my Antec 900 and my TRUE I was running Idle at 27c, now I am running stock/Idle at 14c... loll

Here a screen shot from Everest Vista sidebar showing stock/idle temp after 5 minutes.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v179/short114/Stock.jpg

Then I tried to make the Q6700 boot at 3.66GHz instead of 2.66GHz, I also o/c my RAM to 1100, since I did that only to compare temp I did not take time to run any benchmark but I will post more details in the future.

Here another Everest screen shot, temp is at idle.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v179/short114/Overclocked.jpg

Since I am a newbie I was impress in the temp drop but I want to know from you guys if is a nice gain or not?

This work log is far from finish, keep posted for more picture.

Thanks again.

This is related to the picture quality, in real life they have a perfect brightness that fit everything else.

Thanks everyone for all the comments.

Tonight I got some time and I try to put some color in this loop.

The biggest disappointment for this project is the tubing, it was supposed to be UV reactive but it's finally not, I try to compensate with red lighting.

Again this is not the final result just some tryout..

Awesome work man ;)

This may be stupid but, are you sure your using a UV light? (http://www.petrastechshop.com/lo12ducocaki4.html). I only have a blue Cathode and I wondered why my tubing didn't light up. lol. You can't see the "purple," all you see is the UV reaction ;D

This is what I ordered from Jab-Tech (http://www.jab-tech.com/Lazer-Led-6-Led-UV-Led-with-Black-housing-p-3434.html) and when I try them there was a lot of purple but the tubing was not UV..

Hi Shoota, It will be a pleasure to help you, nice to see you back!

Hi, The Cosmos S was painted in the paint shop at my work, they paint flight simulators with this paint, I only ask the boss of the machine shop for flat black and 3 hours later my case was cleaned, primmed and painted.

For all the others details that I painted afterward I used Krylon #41602 Ultra Flat Black paint.

I hope it answer your questions.
