i have one that i took off of a server rack. it's well over 200mm and spins at about 6,000RPM. i have a duct on it and it goes directly over my Aero7+ on my CPU. i need another one for my 9800, but i can't find a place that sells them. anyone know?

You might be interested in picking up both of these (http://www.directron.com/172mm.html).:stick:

Problem is that that fan has been sold out for months and they probably won't be getting any soon!

You could try either of these (the first might be a mistake @ $4.95, the second is $14.95)

lol i like this quote from the 172mm fan page

"The blades are metal, and will most definitely detach any body part placed within the fan housing. We will not take responsiblity for any bodily injury that occurs when using this "

I can confirm that; I own four of those fans (48V though  ), and two 12V Major DC fans (235CFM) and though I am not sure if they are just really heavy duty plastic or metal on the blades. But they could definitely do some damage to some extremeties.

Yup, those 12V Major DC's are awesome! I've got one on the front of my Chenbro for intake :D Even on a low setting it still moves a ton of air.

I've a 172 papst it's working @12V 100cfm approx, i've hit it with my feet once and i wasn't injured at all, the blade are made of metals, i've added a grill since :)
ps once my black label delta slip from my hand and i had a slightly cut on my finger

hmmm. i should get a couple of those fans. the only problem is that im clumsy with fans and fingers and actually broke a fan blade with my finger. the fan started shaking violently from the loose of balance so i pulled the pulled the plug and got blood everywhere. it was kinda funny but if it happens with one of these fans, i dont think it would be funny. ill opt for two finger guards each, one for the front and one for the back.
