a friend of mine gave me a couple hp netserver lh3 servers. so the first thing that popped into my head was how much room they would have if i gutted them and converted them to WC rigs. so i've begun the long arduous task of converting one of them into my new home WC system. this was going to be a super budget build but i keep spending money and spending money LOL it's turning out not to be!

not much of a talker so i'll get right into the details.

this is my original system, the day before i found my camera again and took this picture i removed all the WC components to recycle into my new rig. so it's running on air at the moment.

the very first mod i did was to take the power supplies and hdd trays out and attach wheels to the bottom. the case has holes aligned for castors already but i didnt know what thread they were, so i just went and bought a tap and some screws to go with it and re-tapped the holes.

next mod to make is to get rid of the stock hole and layout on the back so i can mount my own stuff

when i fired this up the cat didn't stick around

after the cuts

in these you can see some odd stuff. i bought from a junkyard a blower motor out of a '93 subaru legacy the heater blower motor. i didn't take pictures of cutting the hole for the motor to stick through from the other side. i'm going to try to make this my only rad fan and make an air channel that takes it's air over the rad. you can see my trying to figure out how i'm going to do that here.

i have actually bought 2 more rads, a pair of mcr220-qp radiators that i will put some pictures of later. they will also be in the path of that blower fan somehow.

that is the point i am at so far with this build. the following components are being used so far:
biostar ta790gx
amd phenom 9950BE 140w
nvidia 8800gt
no memory picked out yet

apogee gt waterblock
swiftech mcw30 on sb
