View Full Version : How to run Corsair VX450W PSU w/o Mobo?

I am considering running two psu's in a MountainMods UFO case. My main psu will run the motherboard, fans, and dual video cards. My other psu will run pumps, fans, and periferals like SATA2 hardrives, fan contollers etc.

How do I run the non-Mobo psu? The only way I can think of is to use a cheap psu tester that simulates a mobo. (I have heard the shorting the pins in the mobo connector can result in spikes or large current draw.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated..

You can ghetto rig the plug or buy an ATX 24 pin plug adapter that will allow your main PSU plug to connect to the secondary plug. They will both turn on simultaneously when you hit the power button.

YW, sorry I did not have a direct link for the plug adapter but most mod shops should have one.
