Hey i'm pretty new to these forums but you guys have a great section on the Biostar I45.. I just got mine back from RMA from Biostar. My newegg order was DOA.. ANYWAYS, my pci express slot is running at 8x instead of 16x. I have checked all the jumpers to make sure that it was'nt set in crossfire mode.. Even the little JPE9 jumper.

Everything is setup right but GPU-Z and CPU-Z both show i'm running in 8x out of the possible 16x.. Can anyone help?

I've checked the bios but i dont see anything i can change.

What GPUs are you running?

What GPUs are you running?

Here's my system specs

Intel Q6600 3.2Ghz
Biostar I45 Motherboard
XFX 8800 GT 512MB Alpha Dog Edition
Mushkin 2x2GB Redlines PC2-8000
Corsair TX-750watt PSU

I know that this card probably wont use the 8GB of bandwidth of the 16x but i'm gonna stay with this board for a year or two and upgrade my graphics card here soon to a X2 or 280GTX so I need the 16X.. I just used drivercleaner pro and removed all drivers in safemode then reinstalled with the WHQL Official Drivers and I'm still haveing the same issue.

Update the BIOS.

I think Ket has some custom BIOS around here for the I45.

afaik kets bios do nothing (so far) for pci-e bandwidth, can you take a pic of your bard? kind of close up around the pci-e slots? also do you have that molex above the pci-e 1X plugged in? do you have any cards in either pci-e 1X slot?

Yes i have the Molex and 8 Pin all hooked up.. i even tried a different molex connector to see if this would fix it but it did'nt. here's a pic.. sorry i did'nt center it properly but the other 2 jumpers you cant see are exactly like this.

I finaly FIXED IT!!!!!.. all i did was take out all the jumpers and rotate them 180 Degree's and reseated my Molex connector and its all working fine now.

Thanks for all of you that helped.. if anyone has a Q6600 on this board would you please post your bios settings? I cant get this thing past 3.2 without the OS locking up. Thanks!
