Saw this on TPU today. I hate ASUS cases like most people but why they did this is beyond me.

"Hey dude my case folds up! Isn't that sick?"
"No it's stupid."
"Why is that?"
"The point of a case is to house everything and offer some protection."
"Well I can take it on a plane now"
"Idiot, then what protects your components."
"Shut up"

Ok can anyone think of when this would be useful and no it doesn't have to be practical too.

Shipping cost going down, YAY

That's probably the only benefit but how much of the price pie is shipping? I imagine it's only small.

They should look at how MountainMods are shipping their cases (flat pack cases - Ikea-style).

In Big quantity its like 9-10 dollars each case shipped (Taiwan to USA), with this method they can get the prices down for about 40% (6 dollars).
So expect lower prices in Asus cases.
