hey guys... yeah the usual question, will my pa120.3 (with 1600RPM scythes) be enough to cool an e8600, gtx280 and NB of a striker 2 extreme? or will i have to add in my PA120.2 after the cpu/NB?

also, will a d5 with EK top provide enough flow?

Your PA120.3 will handle that load easily.

with overclocking?

Also, i realise after placing the d5 with eks top, it doesnt fit on the usual mounting bracket.. any ideas on how i could mount it, providing me access to the speed settings?

volute? thing is i already ahve the ek top. its apparently the new version, has an extra barb mounting hole on the top... but yeah. u think i should add the pa120.2? would i be able to get decent overclocks and a decent flow using a dtek fusion v2, ek 280 block, the two thermorads, pa120.3 & pa120.2 and the NB on the asus striker 2 extreme board? oh my res is an ek250.

you shoudl be able to get away with the 120.3 for now. add another rad when you add more to your system (ie. 2nd VGA or quadcore)

volute?
volute = shape of the pump chamber

Would a 120.2 be enough to cool a cpu/gpu or cpu/bridge?

It will do the cpu/nb better than the cpu/gfx . Cpu/nb is great with a PA120.2 though.

I have an E6600, a 8800GT and the x38 on a PA120.3.

My water temp is 45C at idle, probe at inlet to res. Each core is 33C idle with 1.43vCore. And GPU is 38C.

Using that Intel burn in test and FurMark with max AA, the CPU gets to 58-63C and the GPU gets to 44C, with water temp @ 50C.

IMO, it is more than enough.

Cool, first time I've seen someone cool their water with their CPU and GPU. ;)

How is it that you can manage to cool your cpu to 33c with 45c water? If the water is 45c so is your minimum temp, your temp sensor is borked.

Interesting. What ambients do you have?

I run an E8600, HD4870 and P45 NB on my PA120.3, my water temp sits ~4deg C above ambients, always. At idle, that's been ~30deg C lately. Measured from the same point in the loop. Well as much as you can trust temp probes/sensors anyway...

28C ambient, my GPU and CPU at load never got above 47C. Yate Loon mediums on 9V or so. Quiet............. And fans on low non benching it's lower temps.

No worries.

Oooooppppss, I quoted myself, what a screwup. Stoopid buttons.

Funny. I didnt even think about it. But there must be something with the probe or board. Guess i will try another mobo plug.

This is getting hilarious :rofl::ROTF::yepp:
47c load @ 28c ambient @ voltage?
