For my bachelor thesis I'm gonna implement a very hard and computationally intensive AI/robotics problem(can't tell you very much since it's never been done before and I would like it to remain like that until I finish:D). Part of it will be done with OpenMP using the SSE units of a CPU and the rest with CUDA. Do you think 6 8800gt will run/survive for 3-4 months on a ASUS P6T6 WS Revolution or they will heat up to much. The 8800gt has a single slot cooler but how much of a space is between 2 of them in adjacent slots? Would 3 8800gx2 be better? Should I expect a GT200 based single slot or dual slot gx2's by February?

a couple of 120mm fans over the 6x 88GTs - I'm sure it'll be fine! :D

edit: I would also go as far as implementing some ghetto cardboard ducting - it'll help heaps! :yepp:

edit2: ducting, like this guy here: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=204590
