Long story short:

Got a rampage formula from the egg, it runs fine but no post with 8gb ( 4 x 2gb) of OCZ Reaper (OCA2RPR800C44GK, PC2 6400 4-4-4 @ 2.1v). Post just fine with 6gb @ 800. I tried everything I can possibly think of..like lower the ram to 667, lower the timing to 5-5-5-15 2t with 2.1v, crank up the nb or sb voltage. everything...no luck..

Is there anyone with a similar setup? or I'm just SOL?

Anyone has a rampage formula with 8GB? cuz if I can't get it to run at 8GB I may have to switch ram to sth that would work 8gb at full speed with this mobo.

Thanks a lot. I would really appreciate any inputs.

Reset Bios, use only 2 sticks, set it up at 800MHz strap at 2.1V at stock timings, THEN save and put the other 2 sticks in, thats what I had to do to get my 8GB of Corsair Dominators detected and etc before I could start tweaking them on my Maximus Formula (pretty much the same mobo)

Thanks for ur advise.

Tried that and same issue. No post with 4 sticks, with all different speed and setting, 533,667,800, from 5-5-5-15 to 4-4-4-12 @ 2.1v

It's pretty weird that 2 sticks on 1 and 3 slots (2 whites) won't post even with lower memory clock speed or timing (533,667 @ 5-5-5-15). However it posts with 2 sticks on slot 1 and 2.

I think it just doesn't like my ocz.

try it with 1.4-1.55V NB

already with 1.55v nb.

I mean I really like this mobo. Compare with my previous P5N-E that can't oc my q6600 past 3.0, it oc my quad to 3.6 so effordlessly. Everything works like a charm .........except the memory..-_-

Is it a dead stick? Or a dead slot? Try each stick in each slot and see if you can recreate the problem.

Rampage Formula is very picky with RAM. Let me repeat that for emphasis: Rampage Formula is extremely picky with RAM and specially when overclocking. Rare cases aside, OCZ doesn't have a good record with the Rampage Formula. I had OCZ Platinum RAM on my Rampage, it could't run 400fsb 1:1 no matter what. The reply from OCZ was "This RAM doesn't like running in sync too much". This isn't just my personal experience. Changed to G.Skill, flawless performance.

I'll second the comment about the G.Skills on this mobo. Runs my 8GB's without breaking a sweat...:D

well 8GB are hard to clock, try with a huge trfc like 65 and host slew rate of strong with relaxed performance lvl like 10 (asus calls it AI booster or something and dosnt give u and exact number so try +3)

Like everyone else has said, this board does love g.skills.

Good news though, they are on sale atm. (Same sticks I'm using) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231166&nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL102808&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL102808-_-Memory-_-L0B-_-20231166)
