dear xs members

I have a problem with my parts,

@default settings(can't get in my bios)

the setup:
QX9770 C1(before E8600 runs great)
Asus Rampage Extreme 0501/0601
Corsair 1800C7 2 x 1gb (micron)
1000watt
4870/8400gs(dont't matter same problems)

Everytime i boot with the QX9770 i see 1 of these poster signs,

-vga bios
-Det ram
-check cpu

some time i see amibios en he gets stuck there any suggestions?

if i pop in the e8600 he runs fine to 640 fsb no prob at all

Im not wery familiar with this board, but how many bioses have you tried ? Also it may sound crazy but have you tried switcing RAMs in the slots or trying other ram ? Or you can setup the board manually before changing the CPU and see if it works.

If nothing of this works i see only RMA or try the CPU in other board.

hey thnx for fast reply

i tried all slots with 1 stick,

tried 0501 no post,
flipped in the e8600 en flashed to 0601(beta)same problem

i am gonna test the cpu on other setup,in 2 hours
if it works, the only thing i can think of is,

-wrong ram(cause i don't have Intel extreme profile's)
and that sucks cause this ram is 199 euro
and the same 1 with intel exteme profile's
is 290 euro(only other spd)

-weak x48 on this rampage,

Well try to manually setup the board according to default specs of the CPU/RAM and see if it works...

Hi,

In first place you should use the white memory slots for best memory performance (it's in the manual anyway).
You don't need memory with XMP in order to work with the QX.
From what I've read so far, sometimes the XMP causes even more problems.
If you want to know what memory I'm using just take a look at my sig, and I have a QX9650 working properly.
I suggest you put in your E6600 and set your primary memory timings in a relaxed way, leave the PL and other memory settings on AUTO but manually enter DRAM voltage according to manufacturers specs.
Since your memory has Micron IC's I suggest you bump the NB voltage a bit more than average.
Then try swapping to the QX9770 and see if it works.

It's a fact that this motherboard is (still) tuned/optimized for RAM with Samsung IC's (like mine).
Maybe on future BIOS releases this issue will be solved.

Hope this helps you in any way.
