The MCRES Micro Revision 2 reservoir shares all the good things that characterized the classic MCRES Micro in size, quality, and provided accessories, but it also includes additional enhancements and functionalities that have been requested by enthusiast users:

The most noticeable feature is an additional port at the bottom of the unit. This port can be used as follows:
as an alternate outlet providing a straight tube routing to a pump located underneath
to feed a second pump
to plug-in a temperature sensor
as a drain
All threads, including the fill-port which was previously a PG7 standard, are now BSPP 1/4" compatible.
New BSPP 1/4" plugs made of high polish chrome plated brass, are used for both the fill-port and the alternate outlet port.
A vent was added to the anti-turbulence baffle to eliminate the formation of a small air bubble that occured in the previous model.

Very practical revisions made to an already practical product. I just thought Swiftech would have done away with the plastic barbs this time around.

we need to maintain compatibility with Europe and include both 1/2" and 3/8" fittings .. it would place the cost of solution much too high..

Awesome res, I'll definitely give this a look when it becomes available. IMO it gives the EK multi-option res a run for its money, especially considering the price (I'm assuming it'll be priced similarly? :D).

Agreed about the comps. Even if the size had to be changed slightly to accommodate them it would still be worth it in my opinion.

It should be a law that all threads should be G1/4 :P

Nice work on working around consumer input though :)

Still need to lose the plastic fittings and thread the res for g1/4...

If it would fit 1/2" x 3/4" comps, that would set it over the top...

All threads, including the fill-port which was previously a PG7 standard, are now BSPP 1/4" compatible.

It's not particularly important in terms of performance, but it's a convenience.

Sure there is, you'd just have to use one port on the side and the one on the bottom.

The one on the bottom is only an outlet though. If your pump isn't right below the res (and in a LOT of cases it won't be) then you're screwed.

In a lot of cases it should be, who places their res below their pump?

The res could be beside the pump. And they could be resting on a surface meaning you can't use the bottom.
