Just though I'd get some talk going in here.

Specifically Saaya, wondering if you could answer some questions about the pwm. Doesn't look like digital but i notice the chokes also don't look like traditional analogue. Is it then hybrid pwm?

Please, please tell me that isn't an anodized aluminum NB top.... If it is, WHY????????

Other than that I love it, Now I have to get me one. My Wife is going to be pissed.

Egad, I just noticed the top isn't threaded and just has barbs. Not going to work. Need threaded holes so you can use any barb/compression fitting. Not everyone uses the same tubing.

Is it possible to get colored acetal/POM?????

only serious concern about Foxconn boards is availability (and a couple of rumours about Foxconn Channels...), other than that, their recent boards are fantastic.

The best I've heard for a release date is in the next 1 to 2 weeks and definitely before Xmas.

Have seen no quotes on price.

if this is out next week i'm upgrading!

my blackops has just gone dead after a BIOS flash (going to test a different CPU inside the board if it keeps on going i'm sending it back for RMA)...

Did you use the jumper to select the other bios chip ?
It can help you to wait a couple of weeks :D

My next upgrade will be the Bloodrage, i7 940, and I'm undecided on the memory. I was originally leaning with towards getting 6 gigs of DDR3 1600 for the Bloodrage. The problem is that I know next to nothing about OC a computer. My current computer has a X48 board in which I'm running some Mushkin DDR3 1600 but it is underclocked at 1333. The main reason being I can never get the OC right between the CPU and the memory so I can get the system stable. I'm always getting BSODs at one time or another. So I'm wondering if I just should get some 6 gigs of DDR3 1333 memory and not worry about OC the memory to get 1600. Opinions are welcome and or suggestions for selection of tri-channel memory.

I'd go with the 3x2GB ocz 1333 7-7-7 kit, others charge you as much for 8-8-8 or 9-9-9 rated stuff so its dirt cheap (well, relatively speaking).
Or if you want something a bit higher up, 3x2GB 1600 Corsair Dominators, but they do come at a price premium.

@koda -
yes mate tried everything (removing bios roms/switching them around/manually setting jumpers/seems like bios chips are dead...) lost all hope on this board, going to send it back i think then sell it off.

@HDCHOPPER -
this is exactily what i'm hoping for!! haha :ROTF:

@kronos -
did you know you don't have to use tri RAM apparently the memory isn't dependable on this (was reading about this in the new Custom PC magazine) and they said dual modules work just as fast as tri's too so you can even use one RAM stick if you like, so i'm thinking of using my old DDR3 RAM instead of forking out on RAM again (then I can get some more later on i'm thinking of going for 1600's this time as I was only able to push my OC so afr on 1333 so bare that in mind).

Processor Channel Read Write Copy Latency
Core i7 Tri DDR3-1333 15.5 GB/s 13.8 GB/s 19.4 GB/s 34.3 ns
Core i7 Dual DDR3-1333 14.7 GB/s 13.8 GB/s 18.9 GB/s 29.6 ns
Core i7 Single DDR3-1333 10.3 GB/s 10.3 GB/s 14.3 GB/s 28.5 ns

Yeah on the Last Page here (http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=3471&p=13) is where the Bloodrage is mentioned, Saaya said It would be below $400.00, just not by how much.

good read !
wished thay would give the board makers more slack and let them get neck deep in enthusiast boards
before thay drop the hammer on them tho (it kinda hard to back out once your commited) :D

dont get me wrong for the price and if thay say it does "X" then eye expect it to do it also but most have just begun to dedicate thenselvs to deliver & cater to enthusiast ... being such a small part of the market (us overclockers) eye can hear some CEO's saying forget it it will cost too much & thier to small of the % of the market to waste R&D on

ok thats it putting the scotch back in the cabinet now :ROTF:

$400!!!

That price would be fine if the pound hadn't plunged and I could import one for around £250 after shipping!

I really want a Blood Rage but I'm going to wait for the first couple of BIOS revisions before I take the plunge as I want to buy a tried and tested kit of DDR3 with it rather than spending a few weeks moaning about OCZ.

Be that as it may, I think this is the memory (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231230) that I'll be ordering with my Bloodrage when it comes out. :D

Well, I've pre-ordered myself a BloodRage!
Unfortunately I have no idea how long I have to wait for it? Is it 100% certain that it will be in store before Christmas?

And when it comes to these LGA775 mounting whole, that's a WONDERFUL idea!
Only thing I notice though is the space between the LGA1366 and LGA775 are dangerously thin? Are you sure it will be able to stand the weight of the heatpipes? Is there some kind of warranty if our coolers simply snap off?

I don't really know if mounting my Thermalright IF-14 with 2-3 fans, or my Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme (aka TRUE) Black with 2x fans is such a good idea? What about the Thermalright TRUE Copper? Afraid the board can't withstand the force / weight?

Please enlighten us Saaya! :D

Kevin Archibald

Started to build my rig. Looks like my 940 is batch 3838B. Hope that's a decent overclocker with the TRUE 1366 with two 120mm fans.

Besides the tight space around the TRUE with two fans even with the east-west fan configuration, I've run into two other issues:

1) Both my GTX285 and X-Fi PCI cards don't line properly with the case screw holes. I'm going to look for smaller screws. So far the cards are holding well by the motherboard slots alone.
2) The other issue is that with the GTX285, which is a double wide card, in the first PCI-Express slot and the X-FI card in the sole PCI slot, there's only a 2mm gap between the two cards. Luckily the GTX285 vents up and the single fan is at the end of the card and clears the end of the sound card. I may end up picking up the X-Fi PCI-Express card for better airflow. This may not be a good motherboard if you have a double wide GPU and want to use the PCI slot - you may want to look at a motherboard with a PCI slot in the last position.

Man, the TRUE is really heavy. I'm still a little concerned about motherboard cracking when I upright the Cosmos case. The heatsink and motherboard seem tightly anchored, and the motherboard seems fairly thick, so I'm optimistic.

Touge180SX
02-02-2009, 03:10 AM
Kevin, you shouldn't have to worry about the weight of the TRUE and the mobo cracking. Like you said, it is thick, actually, eight layers thick if I remember Saaya correctly. :up:
