It doesn`t have an effect on my board either. There is one blue LED for standby working and a red one for memory working. But that doesn`t depend on smart power led in O.C. Gear.

But the button "Smart Boot Menu" works. Thats nice for DOS BIOS- update with USB- stick: :)

it enables some sort of debug LED codes using the power led the way i understood it...
unplug the cpu fan and boot, the power led should now be blinking to indicate there is someting wrong, together with the BIOS post message showing
CPU FAN NOT ROLL or something like that :D (god i need to update those messages with propper english ones one of these days)

I had Smart Power LED [Enabled] and unplugged the CPU FAN. But there wasnt any LED blinking only the screen warning and booting stopped:

Then I disabled Smart Power LED and the computer booted up to windows (without that warnig) though CPU FAN was unplugged.

seems like smart power led actually disables bios warning messages?
