XtremeHardware is pleased to announce that the global overclocking competition, hosted by us, is about to start. The overclocking contest is a new challenge in which you can bench against all the best overclockers in the world, competing in 11 different benchmarks.

The Ultimate Overclock Championship will run for 6 weeks, from 6th of october 2008 to 16th of november 2008, during which the participants will try to get the best results in the category of your choice, as basicly it’s up to you to choose what components you use and what type of cooling you use. The aim of this competition is to find the best overclocker or the best overclocking team to be able to get the best placement in all categories. Obviously there will be awesome prizes for the winner, the second and the third classified. An additional prize will be awarded for the best one that wonn’ use LN2 as cooling system (Phase Change, Cascade and DryIce are allowed)... more than 3000USD for final prizes!!!

During the entire competition, you can discuss scores, rankings, hardware and cooling in the XtremeHardware forums (http://www.xtremehardware.it/forum/). On the Contest Website (http://overclockcontest.xtremehardware.it/), you can follow an updated list of the participants and prizes and of course, the rules that come with this competition. The XtremeHardware Staff wishes everyone a lot of good luck! Thanks to Corsair, CoolerMaster, Enermax, Foxconn, Gainward and Intel for having sponsored the competition!

Guess I'll sign myself up for this even though I don't have any GPUs. If anything I can attempt to make someone else's life miserable by providing some competition in the CPU tests.

Anywhere? It's six weeks long, do you expect busloads of people from everywhere in the world to sit around the same place for six weeks?

You submit results to their website and forum.. it's an online competition. I fail to see what is difficult to understand about this? Read their website and it explains everything.
