Bit of a n00b question here

Got a 32inch LCD HDTV currently using the pc port @ 1360x720 iirc
On the PC port everything looks fantastic, games movies and txt are dynomite.

When I hook it up to the HDMI cable the A/R is wrong I cannot force it to the correct resolution $the colors are insanely bright text is blurry and ther is no "sharpness" to any image if that makes sense
Anyone shed some light on what it is I'm doing wrong?

I would check the refresh rate make sure it is at the spec of the TV. Also when i hook up my computer to a TV i have to change the view settings on the TV monitor. I can't remember the specific setting, but stretch, zoom, centered were a few options. To clarify i have to change the settings with the TV remote for the TV.

Also on your ATi control panel you should be able to output TV resolutions like 720p or 1080p rather than a resolution like 1360x720. Check those things out.

well, some 1360x768 TVs wont accept a 768p input properly. i know this was the case with out one "720p" TV.

i have a samsung 32" 1080p hdtv and it wont accept 1080i properly at all, everything looks sketchy and distorted.

try 720p as an input.

edit: i have to use my hdmi2 port for pc, or it wont scale properly and doesnt look right as you described. this is described in the manual and i called samsung asking.

Is it a 1080p or 1080i? Better yet, have a link?

I am using a dvid to hdmi cable if that matters
dvid to gpu and hdmi to tv.
I have a hdmi dongle comming but cant see that making any real difference.
I will check what display settings are selectable in the tv menu, the manual is rather poor and offers little information.
Hell there is 9 yes 9 pages on how to attach the stand:rofl:
