Not sure how to title this, but, i've saw on some photo's on here and else where, where like someone has taken a photo, and it's in black and white but then there's like a bit which is in colour?
If that makes much sense? I'll try and post a photo which does it..

thats done in post processing applications. I made a quick example to give you a better idea:

random original picture:

make a mask of the area you are interested in:

desaturate the rest:

let us know if you have any questions :)

hehe sorry.. I meant programs like photoshop or gimp etc...basically anything more powerful then paint should be able to do this..

the absolute easiest way I know of playing around with this would be:

go to https://www.photoshop.com/express/landing.html

click on "Test Drive" on the lower right >>

under "Most recent", click on the second picture, with the red meat >>

on the left side click on "Pop Color" >>

click on the picture on any spot that is red and all other colors will become B/W.

you can use this with your own pictures to play around but the problem is that this online version is so simple you have very limited control. if you want to really have some control you need one of the photo editing programs.

cheers :)
