I have a bootable DOS CD, I want to know what command should I write to flash correctly the bios like awdflash.exe 752f1p15 ...... I remember there is some more commands to write /.. /.. to flash the boot block and other things.
thanks

You have to edit the autoexec.bat file. Please click on that file with the right mouse button /edit. Then you can change the line with your keyboard. Foxconn Service suggests:
awdflash 752F1P15.bin /py/sn/cc/cd/cp/wb
/wb = flash bootblock.

If the bootblock flash fail you cant flash a second time. That why I use another command line. I flashed that more than 30 times without any problems:
awdflash 752F1P15.bin /sn/sb/py/cc/cd/cp
/sb = no update for bootblock.

In DOS you only have to type autoexec and press return. Then awdflash will start doing all commands automatically.

thanks for the answer,
is there a problem if I just wrote awdflash 752F1P15.bin ?
and also should the mars boot out of the box with an E8400 E0 ?

No, that doesn`t work.

Please load the optimized defaults in BIOS before starting your update. I forgot to mention that. Then you can`t get any problems in DOS. Most of the problems are caused by windows.

In case that the BIOS- update failed I would prepare a second disk with the old BIOS flash file, awdflash- file and the autoexec.bat within the commands for example:
AWDFLASH 752F1G30.BIN /py/sn
You only have to type autoexec again.
That is my strategy.

You should first update your BIOS with the old CPU and change the CPU after that. I think the P15 supports an E8400 with E0 stepping.

Which BIOS do you have on your Mars now?

I got my CPU E8400 E0 and the board boots without problem and it identified the E8400 correctly, the board comes with P12, still need to update the bios to P15?

update: I used the live fox update utility and updated to P15 without problems, will try to overclock my E0 later and see how it goes :)

thanks for the help

I am interested in the E8400/E0, too. Can you reduce your VCore below 0,9375V?

Do you have that bug, too?

Could you post your settings, please?:)

4GHz @ 1.32v , should 1.32v be safe? also should I disable the virtualization technology and execute disable bit?

you could modyfy/reduce the vCore/ Vdimm with Aegis Panel to find the lowest voltage quickly. What is about FSB 500x8?

And please, could you try FSB 200x9 and reduce the vCore below 0,9375 with Aegis Panel? Can you get these settings? That would be very important for me to know.
Thanks a lot!

I don't know I think aegis tool is not working correctly, it reads my pci-e 80 and I have the pci-e set to 101 in bios

I had also problems with AEGIS panel on Mars and when I downloaded version 1.0.2.34 it's working good.

G28 ruls :D

is G28 bios works with foxconn mars?

I can't find this bios

Yes it works. You can find it at quantum-force.net ;)

Register and go to download selection :)

isn't the bios G28 is old? I found there is G30 with QX9770 support, anyone tried G30?

Bullet92

G28 bring me higher FSB than other BETA/Public BIOSes (560MHz yet and have air to more). I didn't try P15 because I don't know where to find it :D

kimohw

P15 should be newer than G28, right?

Default of PCIe is 100 MHz. Could be as well a problem with your graphic adapter/ motherboard.

if I set it to 100 in bios, Aegis reads it 100 in windows, so I don't know why it doesn't read 101 correctly?

LordIT

that is strange, indeed. I tried pcie 80 yesterdeay. But BIOS didnt want it. Now I will test pcie 101, too and see what happens. :)

I adjusted pcie 101 Mhz in BIOS and opend Aegis Panel. Yes, we have found a way to clock down PCIe: :lol2:

Then I adjusted pcie 101 in Aegis and it works!:

That is a BIOS bug, Aegis Panel works properly! There is a lot of work for saaya - X48/X58 can wait! :lol2:

I would like to check it with an another tool. Which other took does it?

Yeah, that's the best tool for OC (FSB) from Windows but what's your point here?

I want to check if really the PCI-E is running at 81MHz when setting 101MHz in bios or it just miss-reporting with Aegis

I'm not sure, kinda scared to use this Aegis tool. I don't even like to change voltages from windows, has bad experience before resulting in a dead motherboard once I tried to change the voltage from windows.
About your D16 bios, can you please tell me the date of this bios?
Thanks

Believe me, there is no danger. I change FSB and the voltages every day in Aegis Panel. And you only reduce your voltage. If the voltage is to low your sreen will freeze - press reset, thats all.
But you could adjust in BIOS, couldnt you?

I remember a German User who had an E8200, VCore 0,90V and default CPU FSB in his signature on the Mars. Perhaps you can do that, too!
Shall I upload the Aegis Panel 1.34 for you?

kimohw
10-11-2008, 04:18 PM
what is the benefit to run at that low voltage? 0.90v is too low!

I'm running 4GHz @ 1.25v now

LordIT
10-11-2008, 04:34 PM
Here you can read your VID Voltage range:
http://processorfinder.intel.com/Details.aspx?sSpec=SLB9J

You can`t get that low voltage @ 4Ghz. Please adjust FSB 200x9 or 180x9 in BIOS and reduce the Vdimm to 1,0V. Then in Windows you can reduce Vdimm below 0,9375V and please watch the voltages, monitored on the right in Aegis Panel.

After some stability problems with the Bios P15, I went to try Gxx bios, I'm currently on G30 bios and this bios is much more stable and it works nice with my E8400 E0 :)

4GHz @ 1.32v , should 1.32v be safe? also should I disable the virtualization technology and execute disable bit?1.3v is safe, a lot more is safe as long as the temps are ok :)
virtualization and execute disable bit should influence overclocking or performance...

tbh im a bit annoyed at how long it takes to get aegis panel improved...
then again i dont know anything about coding so i guess i dont appreciate all the work it takes to get it all good n dandy? :D

but hey, they DO improve it! :D
and they listen to the end user requests about the tool, thats pretty unique i think :D
