oooooo its pretty looking. On those boards the chipset is between the two cpu sockets right? what if there were horizontal lines in the block there, to still allow flow to happen from one socket to the next freely, but to create more of a surface area for the heat to dissipate off of the chipset. Just a thought... other than that looks awesome!

edit: wow i just realized that thats the skulltrail that has the chipset in the middle. AWESOME BLOCK sry

Very clever, to combine them into one block!

Is that top alodined aluminum? Diffinently like the curves on the new version better then the straight lines on the last. Much better looking.

I think it's brass, especially since he made cuts into it and it was still colored, but why are there gray 'chips' in the second to last picture? That does make it look like anodized aluminum...

Alodined. Different then anodized. Does not go as deep and can only do a goldish color. Very easy to do, you just get your part all nice and clean, dunk it in the alodine and wait for the change to occur, then wash it off. Still has color even after cutting, because you alodine it after you get all your cutting done. Although it could be brass, dunno.

My first thoughts are looks great mate
My second thought is maybe have a 3rd hole in the middle as an outlet? Like that Asetek block and i think DD had something similar RDX??

..and to think, I have the exact same mobo running here ;)

Great work pal, I love it. But I like my two EK Supremes as well, temps kick ass on those

Yes, I know they kill flow, luckily these blocks don't give a damn about flow

+1, there's nothing quite like the real DIY custom fabs!

100 times sexier than buying a block, slapping on your mobo, and saying "FTW"!!!! Even if it doesn't perform as good.

Edit: though I have to ask, what makes it the "Black Edition"?

I like it! Making just a single block sure cleans up the tubing. Very nice.

Can't say i can't like it. What kinda machinery do you use to make this piece of art and how much does it cost you?

Black appears 3-4x more awesome.

$60-65? Is that material only?

EDIT EDIT I would put more material on the outside of the screws if you could, they look really close, especially the countersink.

That, and the hold-down plate. I don't like it too much, mostly because it screws into the top, and with different screws that hold the whole thing together. If you used the 'large rectangle' style of the very first picture, but made it from POLISHED stainless steel or something for a HUGE reflective surface, that would look SUPER BLING. You already show how awesome the large block looks, so if the plate were polished metal and simply covered an area that large, I think it'd be great.

My idea for the hold-down plate was to make the screw head poke up above the block, and have holes for the plate to fit around them:
Before (http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/748/main1aq8.jpg) - After (http://img83.imageshack.us/img83/3591/main2ok8.jpg)
The plate will provide its own pressure, you just need to make sure it won't slide around. Example: Fuzion V1

Still AWESOME work, don't get me wrong.
