Just got my snazzy new Sager NP9262 from XoticPC. Couple of 9800GTMs in SLI and a q9650 running on Vista 64x HP. Just finished a run with 3D'06 - scored 14,834:)

camera battery charging atm:D

I got some custom paint (BMW Titanium Silver), which was an alternative to my first choice of chroming since their chroming machine was broken. It's a pretty cool visual, and a very nice job, tho my photography skills will likely muck up the translation:p:

Geez tho, I've had this beasty running for awhile now, downloading this and that and playing some Lost Coast and some other bits of HL - things are starting to get pretty toasty indeed. The part above the keyboard, kinda under where the lid hinges are, is almost hot to the touch. Methinking of looking into one of those notebook cooler devices.

edit: gotta say I was pretty impressed with XoticPC. 'Cept for one minor miscommunication, it was a very smooth transaction. And, once the rig was built/painted, it shipped NEXT DAY to Canada - downright amazing!

How hot does that quad get at load? I assume it isn't too bad considering it's 45nm, but still... It's a desktop CPU in there...

A T9300 and a Quadro FX570M is plenty for me though

I measured the CPU temps with speedfan (as well as the video card temps with GPUz) with no cooler, as well as with a nzxt CryoLX cooler.

It was pretty quick and dirty, but you can see the results in this thread:)

edit: well, not too difficult to cut & paste here

Here's the temperature readings using GPUZ and Speedfan (couldn't find the text file thing) at idle and load - load being one round of 3Dmark06. Ran it with (1) the lappy sitting on a wooden table (no glass top this time); (2) sitting on the NZXT Cryo LX cooler, but fans turned off and (3) on cooler with fans on. A couple of the numbers look a bit weird, but it wasn't exactly laboratory standards:p: In any event, it seems you get a lot of the benefit simply by using the NZXT as a stand even without the fans going.
