Pulled the CPU before I ever plugged it in

Nanya damn business memory. I popped in PC2700 and they worked fine in the DC DDR 400 banks.

Looks pretty interesting, can't wait to see what your F@H output will look like :)

im guessing that the case is silent bc of the massive heat sink the g5 has on it

how does it perform?

The fans kick on high when running 3D so 2D apps like Photoshop operate at low fan speed.

Panther is released on the 24'th and I will have a crack at compiling some stuff under the 64bit OS. Right now they run like 2Ghz dual G4's. You can put in up to 8GB of ram under the 32bit OS but it will only see 2GB and you need to take out 1 stick of memory to install a few different applications. This will be fixed in the Panther release.

Filemaker pro is one example of an application that will not install with more than 1.5GB installed. NFC why... thats one of the bugs we experianced so far.

are any of those folding?

Some are folding, the G5's are not yet.

Damn, massive heatpipe coolers with crossflow. Must be pretty quiet.

And while a 1GHz FSB may be overkill for RISC processors such as the G5, it still is interesting.

is that heatpipe tech on the cpu?
