What is the default value for the Northbridge GTL? I'm assuming that it's 0.635 like the CPU GTL default value. Saaya or anyone else, can you clarify.

sorry for not replying sooner!
actually no, i think the nb gtl is higher, should be around 0.67x vtt
let me check to be sure ok? :D

 Thanks. Will the default vary by BIOS? For example, the later BIOS are written with 45 nm cpu's in mind, therefore, the default cpu GTL value = 0.635, where for a 65 nm cpu, the cpu GTL value = 0.667.

Just confirmed with the engineers, default nb gtl is always 0.67x vtt for all BIOS versions.

about CPU GTL, let me check :)

EDIT: according to one of the engineers i just talked to CPU GTL is always 63.5x vtt, regardless of what you cpu use. the only difference is that 65nm cpus have a default vtt of 1.2v, when intel introduced the 45nm cpus they dropped vtt to 1.1v, but then later had issues getting high fsb speeds stable, especially with the 45nm quads, so they returned to a default vtt of 1.2v for 45nm.

now 45nm cpus DO like a diffeent cpu gtl than 65nm cpus, but from what i gathered from on of our engineers just now thats all left to either the bios engineers or the end users tweaking it :D

i hope this helps :toast:
