flash drive question

i finaly went and got a voyager 16GB and its getting 22-23MB/s read and 9-10 write (like i think that its supposed to) but the random read and random writes are terrible on it, but with random writes it drops to like 5MB/s, is that normal and reads are in 12MB/s range for the minimum

and are flash drives like SSD drives were the jMicron controller seams to murder the MLC
