Intel Core 2 Duo T5850 possible upgrade to E8600?

Any chance its possible to upgrade from Intel Core 2 Duo T5850 to E8600 for the system I may purchase and I really like the system setups ? would be sweet going form 2.16 GHz 2MB Cache to 3.33 GHz 6 MB cache :up:

T5850 are mobile chips and use a completely different socket then desktop LGA chips. So no you can not.

DOH!! ON ME LOL Okay how about going from T5850 to T9300 ? that might work?

that should work u could also get an x9000 they are cheap on ebay since the socket is obsolete now

I don't think X9000 would work. the one I am looking at is brand new at the store and would be nice to swap it out. I think X9000 is Socket 479 mobile verison. great for P965 chipsets.
