You can try heating it up, that'll make the tubing more elastic. As mentioned, another way would be to cut off the tubing right above the barb and then slice the remaining tubing on the barb so that you can just peel it off.

Today i drained my loop and pulled the 7/16in Duralene off 1/2in barbs. Just twist and pull, that does the trick.

Heat the tubes up with a hair-dryer if you need to.

Or just pull harder

Dunno if this is a proper input due to the XS community lovin 7/16 on 1/2 barbs. I use 1/2x3/4 tubing on 1/2 barbs with lined hoseclamps. Comes off pretty easy and I don't have to replace the hose when I drain etc.

7/16 is a price payed for really solid leak-proof setups. Cut it off, use new tubing.

Slowly rock the tubing from side to side while pulling.

Slice off the tubing 1 cm from the barb. Then slice the tubing length wise towards the barb. The tubing should then split and slice off cleanly.

I use 7/16 tubing and always slice the tubing just above the barb and then cut the rest off.
I dislike using the tubing again as the bit that was attached to the barb seems to be stretched slightly so your not getting as good a seal the next time you use it....just my take on it.

It's not that hard...I just pull really hard.

Meh, that's just me...

And yes, I'm using 7/16 on 1/2.

Just cut slightly above the barb then cut along the remaining tube attached to the barb.

I never pull 7/16 off 1/2 barbs, I'm always worried about potentially damaging the thread of the block by putting too much pressure on the barb.

Different fittings will be easier/harder to do...

But I just cut. I don't clean my tubes, I just change them.

use a razor and go gently along the walls.

once you cut though most of the tubing, the left over piece will either rip or strech out.
