damn I'm going down...
this 2.26b setup on abit th7-II went very well, it got me to 3240 mhz on a bd7-II mobo, easily and @ 1.9 volts
I was running primestable @ 3170 for some weeks now on abit th7-II @ 1.85 volts
however bit by bit I can't seem to get nearly as high... it doesn't crash on me, but prime does... it was 100% stable the first two weeks, then I got errors, so I downed it 1 mhz fsb => result was primestability. I also decreased my voltage to 1.8 in bios meaning 1.70-1.75 in windows (mean 1.73)
three days later : it started crashing down on me...
had to down it again...
now it's @ 3.050 and it's primestable... this means I have lost about 120 mhz of primestability in two months...

I hope this isn't what I've read several times: due to high voltage your CPU will become unstable after a while (sometimes even @ default speed) and in the worst case scenario will eventually die...
And 1.9v is a lot for a N'wood (for benchen np I guess, but not for day to day use...)
Some people say 1.75v is the max for daily use...

it's at 1.7-1.75 in everyday use now, but it keeps degrading...
no prob, when it doesn't want to go over 3 ghz anymore, we'll have to get a new one...
and sell it to somebody who thinks 2.8 ghz is heaven.

yeah, thats sucks.
unfortunately, yes, its gonna keep degrading.
on your 2.26, with the Vcore of 1.75 (from the very beginning), i am pretty sure you'd get 2.9-3.0ghz, without the danger to the chip.
but thats probably not enough for you, :) its never enough.
so you'll push it farther, and cause it to degrade.
thats why i don't like northwoods very much. they are not Xtreme-OCer-friendly.

well, I guess they're extreme Oc -friendly if you switch chips often, they give you massive overclocks for some months :)

just the chip, not me. it's at 1.70 volts now @ 3.050.
I'll keep it there.
But if it degrades and crashes... nobody will see any damage, and the shops don't pay for it, just the big bad intel.
so, if it dies... it dies...

weird stuff... it's been working @ 3.0 for fourteen days @1.65 volts... and I cranked it up once just for fun @ 1.9 volts (for about 15 minutes)

thats some mem overclock ...... wow .... best ive done so far is just over 3700 with ddr mem

Well that wierd cos I have the opposite. I used to run about 1.75ish for anything above 2.8mhz just to be safe and now after some intense 3dmarking and other testing, I can run 2800 at default volt setting in bios which is 1.62 due to me wrapping 2 pins.
Touch wood that it doesnt start to stuff up :D I must admit that I could run 3120 for a screenie and sandra benching but no 3dmark or prime, but now Windows wont even load at that speeds so maybe I am experiencing what you are experiencing to kind of...:confused:
I can also run now 165 using 3:4 when lastweek I could only do 160. I even got a sandra benchie at 170 using 3:4 but not stable for anything else besides sandra.
I just contradicted myself there, sorta, well im not getting the high speeds but im getting the everyday speeds. :D

Over-Volting kills P4's..
Anything over the Intel specs of 1.7 volts is dangerous, and running at 1.85 to 2.0 volts will cause the CPU to either degrade and lose the ability to overclock, or just die.
