Hi there!

I am about to up my 5v line on my Antec 400W PSU via the internal VR to stabilize my 5v line.
I wanted to ask of what I should be aware of? I mean which components on the mobo are stressed by an increased 5V line from the PSU?

I know the 6 mosfets regulating VCore will get stressed, so I better cool them with some passive HSF.

But what else? Are there more components that I should cool down?

thx, goldlocke.

Goldlocke:)

Several of us use the heatsink from the Thermaltake ram heatspreader kit on the 6 mosfets you mention. This seems to do a great job. I have found dialing in around 5.2v on the +5 seems to work pretty well...it drops to only 5.07v under full load of an overclocked 2200+ T-bred.

Are those heatsinks vital?

@ mackanz: my mosfets get up to 43°C under full load and Vcore of ~2.0V.

when u cool them down the resulting current should be higher. Am I right?

Brilliant!

Thanks for the tip, m8.
