It appears that the microcool will only work if your Mobo has mounting holes, with many boards using the new (NOT IMPROVED) ring system, it won't work. Swiftech has a mounting system for most Mobo's that use Rings.

the swiftech is awesome, running it now. Even fits with my maze4 gpu block threads

I don't know wtf it is, But I'm gonna cut it up :)

Seriously,

Yes its a nice heatsink and all, but a $40 swifty gathering dust will be transform into a $30 MCX159 Actually I told Gabe at Swiftech I was gonna cut it up and make my own MCX159 and he started to cry, followed by calling me a lunatic :smileysex

I have a review coming up in the next couple of weeks that I hope will answer that question. The Microcool just got here and the Swifty should be on the way. ;)

I have a MCX-159A. I get:

20C Idle/Ambient
28C Load/Use

:toast:

So I say go for the swifty, unless you make your own.
