that braided line is pretty stylish. Where'd you pick it up?

DementeD
01-21-2009, 09:52 AM
i picked that up from home depot..its actually a washer machine hose but i cut off the ends and used as needed..it was like $12 for 4' ...i thought it was 1/2" ID but its actually 3/8" ..i couldnt tell at first but going by the outside(5/8") i figured it was..it is very nice tho..it has a plastic coating over the steal braiding so the steel doesnt come apart or look nasty after being cut...i need a better camera and some better pics which ill get asap..letting the camera charge now..and i removed the bracket that holds the dvdrw in place for some screws which i think ill paint black as well..and i plan to order a bitspower radiator cover as well..still a little ways to go before its how i want it..
need to do more sleeving like mentioned....mainly just the other pcie and the 24pin atx cable(im dreading this one)

Is McRes and pump on HDD tray?

DementeD

^yes sir and now u mention it..probably not the most intelligent place for them incase of a leak..hmm

I have a similar build as yours. I found that the MCP355 gave me more options for places to mount due to the small footprint.

DementeD

i think imma leave it how it is..the pump im not to worried about..the res im a lil iffy because i have heard of them leaking...but i think it was due to people cleaning them incorrectly or something of the like..
and as far as vibration which could be another factor..i have sound dampening material inbetween the cage and each hd..so i dont think that should be an issue..

i was also expecting to have the water running tonight but a misroute of my parts has them going a super long route(performance-pcs is in florida/palm bay i belive..which is south of me a couple hours..and the parts went to orlando which is north of me a couple hours..then to New Hampshire????????????????????????????? i have no idea why..it should still make the 3 day delivery that i paid for but i was hopin within 2 days since its like..2-3hrs away and i ordered at like 6am so it was shipped very early that day which i thank performance-pcs for :D)

as soon as everythings done ill try to get more pics with it a little cleaner..theres smudges/dust etc maybe have a friend do some photoshop work for a nice background..
imo i love how its coming out..definitely looks better in person where u dont notice the dust or smudges as much..haha

Great minds think alike. Do you think all 4 dimms used holds you back OC' wize. I was lookin at goin for some Gskill 1066Dimms.

Yep, that is not most best place for res.
I have been looking for good place for it also.
Prolly going to replace it with DangerDen dual 5.25" reservoir.

It's too bad there isn't any sources on chrome cable sleeving... that'd be pretty cool to have braided lines, and braided wires that matched

nope..whats holding me back is the vdroop on this board..its crazy i need 1.6 to do 3.8..but it drops to 1.52 under load..so i think im going to have to yank the mobo out and do the vmod to it....i had 3.9 running and 4.05ghz almost booting..it'd get about half way into windows and then crash ..the only difference before is i got 4ghz bootable but never stable but it was temps holding me back before..so maybe i put crazy high voltage to get it bootable i dont really remember its been a long time since ive overclocked this cpu..but right now i have ddr2 800 running at 952 with 4-4-3-5 timings and benched it on sisoft sandra and got pc8600 out of it

as far as the res..i know its not the best place but..im going with it..i dont have a better place to put it to keep it clean..

the sleeving i think i would of stayed with the black even if they had a nice steel braided one..just so it didnt clash or be too much ya know..

ty for the compliment on the hose ...i do think it looks very good and was fairly cheap for steel braided hose..a little difficult to work with for me since my pump was ONLY 1/2" out so..i had to drill out some of the rubber to get it to fit properly cause the tubing is 3/8" ID with 5/8" OD

Nice looking buildup your got going there! :)
I have to say though, that is the most empty looking 830 stacker I have ever seen! Usually people get a case like that and pack it full of goodies.

DementeD
01-30-2009, 08:25 AM
^ ty ...and theres some goodies in there i just like clean and simple and hidden..the only thing i want to add is an ssd or two later on(and quite possibly a 4870 1gb when i go tri monitor) and im trying to think of a way to add those and make em look good..OR make them not even appear..and as of right now the only place i can see them going is the back side of the case in the grooves for the 5.25" bays so they wont be visible anyway..(since back there already contains sata power and have the cut outs for the sata cable etc...i also dont want to cram to much in there..i do have 3 raptors id much rather be using as for my OS but..then u have more cables and no where to run them to keep it clean so..this will do for now :D
