Increase Stability

General question - what can i do to increase stability with higher overclocks?

I ask because im running an AMD Athlon x2 6000+ at 3.4Ghz on Water, and i's prefectly fine until i run Call of Duty 4 :rolleyes: and futuremark apps crash after about 5 minutes.

I dont have my GPU overclocked.

Can't find any help for the noobs learning to overclock :(

Help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to tell us your volltage settings,mem settings you are running?? We need some details to help you :)

Lets see it looks like the CPU-z validation shows all the needed information except for what Vcore your running at. Generally a little bump in the Vcore will help. Otherwise you'll need to experament with teh RAM timings. If that doesn't help then back off a bit on the FSB.

cod4 seemed to be a worthwhile test, 1.4375v seemed to be fine but then i lost all sound. 1.45 worked like magic :up:

HM that aint so Old Windsor can take up to 1,45 even on stock cooler (yes that small one with only two HP) and under Freezer64 which is entry it can take that voltage withoput any harm (even 1,50V), under TR-U120eX it's safe up to 1,53V and under arctic's water coolin if it aint some poor aftermarket like EverCrap (mm sorry EverCool or so) it's safe to go 1,55V 24/7

hm ... under that cooling it seem's that it can go much further .... try 1.55V and show us results i think you can reach 3,65 or 3,7 with that bastard ;) 1.60 could be too much if you don't have some nice aqua-tank around you. Not that anything would happen but tha's just to much squeezing for too little performance jump above 1.55V.

just watch HT link cause even for 4GHz X2 you really don't need HT link over 1200MHz (that's 4,8GBps transaction rate), but if you'r e for xtreem go for it 1600M should be a limit for that good old 590ultra mobo
