For case fans, Arctic Cooling do pretty good ones for the money. Just look around at specs -- highest CF/M to lowest dB is what you want. It all depends on your budget. At the high end of the scale you have Noctua fans. I recommend them fully. The NF-P12 is great. It's very quiet, and you can quieten it further if necessary with the supplied low-noise adapters. These put a resistor in-line to run the fans slower, and thus reduce air flow a little, but they still shift decent air. Nexus fans are nice and quiet, too.

For CPU cooling, get the biggest Thermalright unit that will fit in your case! An Ultra model will do a nice job. Don't forget you need to strap your own fan to it. If space is a problem, maybe look at the Thermalright Ultima 90. There are tons of good coolers out there, though. again, just look around at reviews. Xigmatek s1283 is good and reasonably priced.

Get some Yate Loon Medium speed fans from Petra's for your bottom intake fan and you could use them as exhaust fans on the top. I use 140mm Yate Loon med. spd fans for the top exhaust and YL med. spd for bottom fan as intake & front intake. I use Antec Tricool 120mm on high spd for the rear exhaust and side case fan as intake on med. spd. The Antec Tricools have a 3 speed controller. Also Yate Loon also has high spd fan as well. Petra's is the only online retailer that gets their Yate Loon fans directly from Yate Loon. Here's a review on case fans.

120x 25 fans

140x 25 Yate Loon fans

It maybe a good idea to get a fan with a higher cfm to use for the rear exhaust fan. Scythe is another good brand to purchase but they are pricey.

Nobody likes the Scythe Ultra Kaze? It's not exactly quiet (about 45db) but it moves more than 130CFM. Not too shabby.

First of all why does it suck? What temps are you getting? Are you OCing?

If your not OCing and your just getting bad temps then you may not have the cooler securly mounted. This is a common problem with the way intel coolers are attached to the motherboard. Point is you may not need to spend the money on an upgrade.

I have 3. I love my noisy fans.

they have a more annoying pitch than the yates, and i like my 2 TT that i got for 99c at comp usa when they were closing but i bought 2 more a few months ago and they arnt good anymore (frys took em back though), i like the yates for normal case fans

also dont put all of the intakes on that case u get the same temps but much quieter, and an 80x80x15 on that back side panel pulling out helps a little its well worth getting

Its height is 160 mm. Width of CM 690 is (due to specification) 8.4" = 213 mm. So, I think it will fit in your case.

The Xigmatek s1283 is a great cooler for the price will hang right in with a TRUE within a deg and includes the fan 120mm which can be controlled by the mother board and bios or speed fan its a PWM. Only thing I would recommend is make sure you get the bolt though bracket both the HS and bracket can get had for about $42.00 combined. The TRUE will cost a lot more if you include a bolt though bracket and fan and retaining clip in the range of $66.00 + Fan. Xigmatek just had a mail in rebate going for $10.00 off but I think that ended on 8/31 I got mine with its bolt thought bracket including rebate for $32.00 and mine seems to be doing a great job on my over clocked Q6600.
