Would 4x 7200rpm 320GB (single platter type) HDDs in RAID0 have enough write speed to handle 7 DVD drives ripping to that array?

oh yes :)
I've got a similar hdd config (4x 640gb raid 0) running on a SAS controller.... add another 20 dvd's and try again ;p
