anyone know a simple way?
its running 1066 right now, i'd like to get it to 1200mhz if possible. it has a 5:8 cpu/ram ratio right now and i pretty much think that 1:1 is out of the question since i would need 667mhz ram to do that

rig is in my sig, if anyone has any advise i'd surely appreciate it:yepp:

how much voltage are you using, it might also be helpful if you post your BIOS version?

i manually set the timings to set whats on the package (default was 5-5-5-24, i set it to 5-5-5-18), and the voltage was already at recommended, 2.1v

i'm not sure what version of the BIOS is on there, it is what came with the board. i know i havent updated it because the board seems to be running fine and didnt want to change anything.

thanks

well, try going with 5-5-5-24, and up the voltage just a bit.

dont up the ram voltage, u want that to be 2.15V actual, but up the NB to 1.55-1.6

by a little, i meant 2.15, I suspected the actual voltage wasn't really 2.1 which is the reason it wasn't hitting the rated

so that will up the ram speed, you sure? i'm not going to fry anything am i? what does upping the NB voltage do to increase clock speed?

i'll try it when i get home and see what happens:up:

so put it back to the default speed that it started with, is that better than manually setting the timings? i was under the impression that if the timings werent correct in the BIOS then you should change it to recommended timings:confused:

the NB is memory controller sp more volts t it will help get the ram going and u should be fine on your board with 1.6 in bios since with vdroop it will be about 1.55 and thats fine for stock cooling, the x38/48 are 130nm so it can take about 1.8V not that u should do that

no im not going to do that:D

i didnt get a chance to try changing the voltage last night, i'll see if i have time when i get home:up:

thanks mate
