Can I run a 80w pelt air cooled on an Antec 550w PSU??? It's for my videocard.
And if I can how do I do it and what do I need???

Yes you can unless you have a 226watt pelt cooling your cpu and you didn't care to tell us 'bout it :)

It's gonna ba a custom job, you nned to buy a TEM (thermoelectric module aka tec) cold plate and heatsink (lots of them on the market).

Btw, what vid card are we rambling about here ?

Then modd heatsink to fit (usually longer screws) put some really hefty fan on top and voila, overclock to your heart's content :)

you can run a 80watt pelt off an Antec 550watt... but you can't aircool it:eek:

you can aircool a 110watt cpu.

It jus takes a big heatsink and a tornado.

its all about the amount of amps that the psu can carry on the 12v line, im not sure how much the 550 holds but im gonna assume 24, and im also gonna assume the 80w takes about 8a, so i'd say unless ur running anything besides the standard u should be ok, but i'd get a second opinion. I dont want to be blamed when u fry something! =p PS: Dont aircool pelts, it really doesnt help more than water cooling will get u, and standard watercooling costs the same as an aircooled pelt.

You can air-cool anything you like if you only know how to do it.
I know a person who uses air cooled Swiftech's 226watt pelt on his CPU and gets fantastic overclocks form his 2.4C...
80w tec is a doddle to cool by air and if you duct air from outside of your case you are laughing !
