:welcome:

Many, many, many thanks to Mr. ArmenianDave aka (UN) Designs for doing all the work and letting me be a back seat driver. :D

Originally my case was going to be anodized but there were too many things on the case that were steel so anodizing was out of the picture. It was going to then be powder coated flat black, but after several quotes of + 100 range i said forget it decided to go ghetto. Flat black spray paint. It actually came out quite nice and it is pretty durable. 3 coats of primer and 3-4 coats of black and it wont chip unless you hit it with a flat head. I accidently deleted the pictures of the cage taken apart being painted black :mad:

Here's pretty much what it looks like

Heres the case assembled back together. We also did the quick release buttons which came out sick!

Clamps? Don't forego clamps !

we dont need no stinking clamps!! lol 7/16 on 1/2 is snug! but i plan on getting clamps just dont know which ones yet... want bling ones :P

we didnt even sand or anything, simply took it apart, 3 coats of primer let it dry for a few hours. added 2 coats of black let it dry for a few more days, added another 1-2 coats of black and let that dry for another few more days.

i was really afraid of doing the spray paint cause of quality and durability but im pretty suprised how "decent" it came out. obviously it cant hold a candle to powdercoating or but its pretty good for 15 dollars in spray paint

It'll be wise to have clamps anyway.

Look at the number of popped tubing instances. Its there right nowin the forum. Read for yourself and understand what it can do to your machine.

In an instant, you may loose your machine. One guy had $3,000 of hardware disappear in a flash. All because of arrogance regarding 7/16 tubing on 1/2 inch barbs.

Ask Eddie3dfx. He had one barb that wasn't clamped. The tubing on that particular barb heated up and came off cleanly. Water sprayed everywhere across his whole machine. 3 out of 4 memory slots are dead. And don't think it was cheap tubing. He used Tygon.

It looks snug now. When it heats up, the snugness goes. The tubing will come flying off the barb.

I am only speaking up because I care. Otherwise, I would sit back and let you take that colossal risk.

Absoluteczech forgot to mention that you want to buy some acetone and scrub all the crap off first. The key to a good primer hold is if the case is nice and clean. It would have been better to sandblast it first but acetone does a pretty decent job of getting rid of all the oils and dirt and crap.

You should replace the bottom fan with a red fan, that would make the lighting more even!

Just my $.02
