Taken using a not so special 7.2 MP Sony on auto settings through a window (no way in hell was I getting close to that lol). I also brought out the shadows and altered the color balance with Photoshop since it was yellowish from the flashlight. The spider is only around an inch long and I had to shine a flashlight on it while holding the camera, so it's not as sharp as I would have liked. Just something cool I decided to take a picture of while I was bored... yes I know I'm not that great at taking pictures :).

that looks like a mean spider!

I know what you mean... I took this pic of a spider on my patio screen, and thought the thing was gonna jump on me at the time.. turned out to be a harmless "yellow garden spider" after looking it up. but at the time, a 2 inch wide spide 3 ft above my head didn't feel too comfortable when I didn't know it's disposition or venom/non-venom.

all I knew was he looked pretty menacing all colored up and poised to jump... turned out to be very non aggressive in the end.. I probably could have gotten a lot closer, and took a better pic.

lol

We have some spiders up here that would make you run...

I run across Black Widows during high summer on a regular basis...

But my favorite is the wolf spider...big as my palm and FAST

That's a small one, we've come across some palm sized in my house, and they are fast as hell. I remember coming downstairs while my dad was trying to kill one on the floor when it shot towards me so I freaked out and jumped :p:

how weird, i was just trying to take a picture of a huge spider hanging from a web on my back patio. I can't identify it but it's definitely not a garden spider. it's probably as thick as a large popcorn and the body itself is as big as a US quarter. no way in hell i was getting close enough to take a picture with my old 1.2mp.

Yeah man except the ones here are a bit more brown and black not so grey...they are everywhere...but they seem harmless enough.

Interesting. I have never seen any of these spiders around in NY. My house has a bunch of home centipedes.

Edit: Here's a picture I took. Please excuse the caption that I made fun of my friend. :p:

I wonder if those are the same as these:

My friend said he saw one of these in his room when he lived in Maryland.
