I would like to try Vista 64bit out as it probably alot more stable now and drivers are more mature. At the moment I have 2x1gb xms2 6400c4 v1.2 D9 micron I believe and it is pretty cheap these days to pick up another 2x1gb sticks in the UK. My query is my current sticks are running @ a mild o/c of 425fsb @2.1v and the newer revisions I understand are promos with a recommended voltage of 1.8v. So how would I get around running this? Would it be safe to run all sticks at my current voltage?

I would not suggest mixing 2 different types of ICs on the same MOBO. If you need a 4gb set, a 2 x 2gb kit is your best option.

Yeah I did exactly that, managed to pick up 2x2gb xms8500c5 with fan locally for a good price and v1.2 to boot, so D9 microns. Thanks anyways ;)

Well I am a bit confused tbh they are where in a TWIN2X2048-8500C5DF kit marked v1.2 which was originally purchased 3 months ago and after I looked at the ram list I thought they were D9's. But I am not so sure now, maybe they are Powerchips after all, but they do say 2.1v and if they were would I not beable to run them at 1.8v at there rated speeds and timings?

All of our 2 x 2GB ( aka Twin2X4096 ) PC8500 to date has been made with PSC ICs and are rated at 2.1v.

Arh my bad, thanks for clearing that up large man with yellowbeard:D so thesmay clock quite nicely then as per the thread in xtreme bandwidth!

No guarantees of course but, everyone that I have seen trying to clock them is getting 1100+.
