I thought I'd buy some Duron's to mess with, then sell em or something... so I bought a Duron 1.1 and Duron 1.2. I just slapped the 1.2 in. I upgraded my bios on my Epox 8k3a+ when I had my 2200+ to a 26.12 I believe... so that's what I'm running on now. And here's what I got...
I'm going to work it some more and see if I can juice out a few more Mhz on the FSB. I think I'm peaking w/ my current ram though :P I can still get max timings @ 210, and actually @ 211 now. This new bios seemed to give me 1 more mhz. But that's nothing special. This is!

Note the mhz :P I made a funny! *Points to thread title*

Had to turn em up a smidget for the 223mhz ;) I got that when I first booted the 2nd day of benchmarking... so everything was nice and cold. I geuss that's how I ran everything just that bit higher.

Hi Guys:)
My son just happened to have a 1Ghz Morgan Duron as a spare..so I hit him up to borrow it this weekend to test out some hardware I'm evaluating...after I saw this thread I decided I'd contribute to it...heres a NewEgg 1gig Morgan Duron so far, not bad, a 600Mhz overclock for a $40 CPU:toast:

Nice nice. My best Duron 1.0 OC was 1575. I'll do a whole new slew of oc's when I get my freezer up. Highest stable Duron was 1.66 w/ a 1.3.... see screenshot below. Still haven't unlocked it though :\

nice overclock. I'll have a 1.3ghz morgan to play around with next month. I'm hope the chip will do 6.5 x 230 or something like that.

Wow. This is the most serious case of grave digging I've ever seen. You're shooting for a WR: 1222 days (3.35 years)

OMG! i did? :D :p: and amrgb, that is a nice sig :P. That dude was convinced that a 3.2E ran games smoother as a 4800+ x2 @ 2.8ghz :) :p:

Thanks for the comments on the sig, Wouter and largon. It was a fun to read those 2 threads, but I'm glad they've closed them.
Wouter, in these days to have old (ancient?) hardware is a solitary thing. It's difficult to talk with someone about them. But I think that it's better to create new threads than to ungrave 3 year old threads. Just don't expect a great feedback, if any.
PS: Wouter, if I were you, I would take it on the funny side and change my sig to the bumpasaurus. It's lovely. Today was a funny day at XS.

I had faster hardware (2600xp-m@2800mhz), but i sold them a while ago. Old hardware is fun though and you wont have to worry about killing it.
I also made myself a bumpasaurus sig :p:

amrgb, 3800 venice isnt incorrect in saying his 2.8ghz venice is faster than a FX57( assuming the FX is at stock speeds) becuase the memory on a 3200 venice would have to be 280mhz (assuming no divider) The extra 80mhz on the mem would overtake the extra cache on the FX...
but anyway.. this thread is ancient.. I think we need to change <Wouter>'s title to "The Archaeologist"
