I would gladly pay if the job was done professionally. The though of me and soldering iron near a $300 video card gives me nighmares. I would love to have one of my 9800 P's Vmodded.

I would. There is no way (at least in the near future) that I could successfully voltmod anything. One day I'll get there.

well im getting into soldering, at least on xboxs for now. so im just curious if i was good to expand to computers..

im not sure id want to mess with 300-500 dollar video cards.. id prefer pomona grabbers over soldering..

But being 20 jobless, and into computers Alot.. its hard to get a decent job w/o having to get 20 degrees :|

I would, conditionally.

First, it would have to be a seamless, efficient, professional job. Something small, neat, and either unnoticeable, or eye-pleasing. (Such as a video card with VGA/BGA Ramsinks applied.) Something that keeps it from looking ghetto rigged. ;)

Also, some kind of warranty. Although it is overclocking, lots of people would get burned easily if it arrived DOA or died out the same day.

It's risky business, but if you can somehow garuntee those, i'd buy it.

I'd love a voltmodded board. Maybe I can break this 1492 MHz barrier on my CPU.

well of course there would be a no doa warranty.. but if soldering then of course the maf warranty is gone unless you do a good enough job you could remove the soldering points.. But most ppl that need such video card mods want heatsinks, or water cool/sub zero cool.. so that would kill the warranty anwyays..

I've done countless vmods for my friends, all for free with a disclaimer, " If I screw up, I'm not responsible."
Haven't screwed one up yet.

Well, if anyone is interested, ill probly start doing this shortly..

i got a job with a friend so he'll be giving me xbox's for my work, so ill probly mod them and sell them if i get into the soldering biz.

Gonna work on my nf7-s this week and see how that goes.

Might be worth you putting it in services if you are offering this to people on here. Seems like a nice idea and a few companies over here in the UK do it.

I'm happy to do mods too, used to work as a production line solderer in an electronics factory :)

I wouldn't pay for anyone to do mods TBH, can do it myself :)

Depends on the cost and turnaround time, but I'd say yes. Volt-modding my IC7-G was -- fun until I killed the board. $230 mistake with jittery hands...

What happens if you kill a $500 video card, you have the money to buy the user another? What happens if someone sends you a dead card and claims you killed it? What can you gonna do to prove you didnt kill it?

And secondly this needs to be in the For Sale section under Services. You know better than to solicit outside the For sale section.

Its amazing how you turned a inquirey thread into a services thread
