Guys, I'm researching the best disconnect fitting for an upcoming radbox. I've decided to get either:

A. 1/2" Polypropylene Bulkhead Panel Mount Hose Barb Shutoff (http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/variant.asp?catalog%5Fname=USPlastic&category%5Fname=6917&product%5Fid=7413&variant%5Fid=60695)

OR

B. 1/2" Polypropylene Bulkhead Panel Mount Hose Barb Straight Thru (http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/variant.asp?catalog%5Fname=USPlastic&category%5Fname=6917&product%5Fid=7413&variant%5Fid=60698)

The only difference I can see between the 2 is the shutoff valve addition. Do I need a valve on the body part or the insert part? Or is it purely an option?

...I use one's with 3/4 inch sockets to cut down on restriction....

Thanks Andy, that makes sense to me now. What model are you using if you don't mind me asking? Do you have any trouble with tubing?

Is THIS (http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/variant.asp?catalog%5Fname=USPlastic&category%5Fname=6917&product%5Fid=7413&variant%5Fid=60690)the one you're using? Any trouble getting the tubing over the barb?

I guess you could use 1 shutoff socket with a non-shutoff barb for a drain line? That makes sense now, thanks again. The 3/4" is the inside diameter of the socket, not the outside diameter of the hose barb. This is confusing! Thanks for the help mcoffey...

A little bit of restriction, but nothing a decent pump can't handle....

Do you know of any disconnects with less restriction than these? Post pics of your Lian when you can. :)
