View Full Version : 1/2" over fat boys or 7/16th over high flow

So in the past, ALL the problems I have had with leaking had to do with 1/2 tubing, but now with fat boy barbs 1/2 tubing should be a LOT more snug right?
Would you still recommend the 7/16th 5/8th over high flow, or 1/2" 3/4" over fat boys? and why?

I run 1/2"ID-3/4"OD on fatboys and I still used zipties on the barbs. Even with the zipties you could have a leak depending on the bend and tension of the tube.
Go 7/16"ID over 1/2" Fatboys...
on short distances 7\16 is about as effective as 1\2 tubing because of better transition from the tubing to the barb.

what do you mean by transition? 7/16" tube on a 1/2" barb will flex out more at the lip of the barb than 1/2" tube would...or am I not understanding you correctly?
the ID of the 7\16 tube is about 10mm so is the id of 1\2 barbs. So it would be an almost smooth transition, where in the 1\2 tube the water would hit the edge of the barb.

Go 7/16"ID over 1/2" Fatboys...
+1 7/16 on Fatboys is the way to go, nice and tight ;)
