I truly think this bench is good for XS hwbot team no matter what people's personal feelings are about it.

I would love to vote but for some reason I don't have a hwbot forum account or their password recovery doesn't recognize my email address. I want the default preset to scored for points though.

They're calling for 70% in favor of adding points in order for it to pass so that's steep odds.

dude from hwbot news story lol
As 3Dmark Vantage does not comply to the hwbot rules (not free), we require at least 70 / 30 community majority in order to add 3DMark Vantage to the hwboint suite.

I say yes, but only at the Performance level. Its asanine to think a lot of people both have 1. Vista 2. A monitor to support that resolution.

u can use overscan and run svideo to a TV for extreme, or get a crtThats lame. Im not buying other :banana::banana::banana: just to bench on X settings...:shakes:

The point zanz was, IMHO, you want the biggest demographic you can to participate. With using extreme, you only have a select dew that could meet the criteria.

so u dont have an svideo cable and a tv that can use itCertainly I do...However my office is in a different room than my 1080p TV. I am an adult with a wife and child and cant have cables running through my house just to bench. THough 10 years ago, that would have been fine!

LIke I said, if you want a lot of people, the masses have to be able to 1. have the stuff to run it (Vista and monitor to support that res) 2. It has to/should be easy (meaning I dont have to run a cable to a tv JUST to run a benchmark.

You want the most people posting their socres and such, the default should be the standard, Performance.

lol didn't even see that :) why didn't he discuss that with the crew :cool:Well that's for you guys to work out, lol (get him :ROTF: ) Very steep odds for passing but not completely unfair I suppose since it's not a free bench. That's the one major sticking point left and it's a big one even though the price is relatively cheap. I completely understand both sides of this debate.

I never understood what was hard about paying for a full test suite like 3DMark.. A simple application like SuperPi or wPrime should be free as it's relatively easy to code but a 3D benchmark like Vantage? Compared to the amount of money we spend on hardware, $20 is nothing to pay for something you'll use for years.

I think it's more a matter of convenience than people actually having a problem with the price. Even the miniscule effort of typing in a billing address and credit card number is a strong deterrent when their is a one click alternative.
