After a disappointing bench-session last friday I hat the time to work with BlackOPS again. We got this board nearly two month ago but we had huge stability issues. After some trial & error we figured out that loadline calibration was the reason. Llc enabled means that the system reboots with our qx9650 immediately unter load (i.e. wprime). With llc disabled everything is fine but due to this we have a much lower clockspeed (200 - 300 mhz) compared to other boards (i.e. Maximus Extreme). Last weekend I plugged in an E8600 and tried the maximum fsb of BlackOPS. Llc was disabled for all tests.

Setup:
FOXCONN BlackOPS (G27, thanks to FOXCONN Germany) Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 (1.76 volt vcore real) 2x 1024mb Cellshock pc3-14400 (thanks to saaya :D) 2x Powercolor hd 4870 OCZ EliteXStream 1000 (thanks to OCZ ) cpu-cooling: ultramarine blau cascade built by piotres gpu-cooling: D-Tec waterblocks nb-cooling: water
Under boxed air I managed to squeeze out 570 fsb through am3. These were my bootup-settings:
fsb: 550 pl 12 timings 8-7-6-21 1t vpll: 1.62 vnb: 1.62 vtt: 1.35 vsb: 1.57
One of the key-settings for this fsb seems to be cpu clock skew which I had to set to 400 ps. Lower or higher the system doesnīt boot up.:yepp:

Changing cpu-cooling from Intel boxed to cascade gave me a boost of ~25 mhz fsb. After some little testing I got the following results (larger versions by clicking):

Maybe I shouldnīt run this one under a 3d-os with activated crossfire....

As you can see from our screenshots, everything is done with 5:6-devider. This is just becaus 1:2.665 and 1:3 and 1:3.2 wonīt work. 1:3.2 would be perfekt for 600 fsb (ddr3-1920) but the system doesnīt boot up. I forced strap 333 manually but then I couldnīt adjust oc-settings in bios.

I think there is something left in this setup to improve several scores. I donīt know how much that will be but we will try in a few days. Our goal is to reach sub-7.5 in 1m, sub-16 in pifast and 3d at 600x10. :yepp:

Work in progress.... :D

sweet :toast:
very nice n clean screenshots :D
are you sure that you get 300mhz higher cpu clocks on ME with LLC disabled? 0_o
about the dividers not working, did you try the micron reference spd i posted in the tweaks n guides section here or maybe another spd with 1333 table?
sorry that the strap thing is a bit messy, its mostly optimized for quads with 450+fsb and 1:4 memory divider...
ill talk to the bios engineers and will ask them to work on this!

No, not with llc disabled. But on Maximus Extreme we can use llc enabled without problems and so we get a total of 200 - 300 mhz higher cpu clock (depends on benchmark).

No, up to now we didnīt try other spds. But I read that you mentioned something like this and I will try another memory kit with an spd of 1333.

Yes, 1:4 works very well and yes, itīs perfect for quads. We will give our qx9650 another try this week, maybe it works better with bios g27 than with g28. Letīs see. :)
