Hey guys,

Im about to order my Intel core 2 quad q6600 but before I do I have a question.
Is there any place that sells the GO version and not the B3 ( Im going to be ordering from newegg and theres no guarente ill get a GO since its random I guess ).

asgard_thor was explaining to me that a GO is easier to overclock as the B3 is harder to overclock and runs harder also, he recomended me a site that sells the GO but its $293.00 for it and I really dont have that money for that.

If not I guess my only option will be buying it from newegg and hoping I get a GO.

Thanks :D

The chances of you getting a B3 are zero since they stopped getting produced around July-August last year iirc.

Do yourself a BIG favor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115043

Go 45nm, and don't look back.

if ur really worried get a q6700, and u have an almost 0 chance of b3 with the q6600 but the q6700 u have an actual 0% chance of b3

I only have 200 dollars :X Thats why im getting the q6600 its 195.
If I do get a B3 lets say the very very slight chance there is, I wonder if I should return it and say something is wrong with it and then buy another one under another account? ;D

For an extra 40 percent in cost? Not sure if that's a good upgrade if money is tight.

Spend it on more RAM if you're using Vista, or a better video card.

B3's aren't as bad as some people think(yes I have a B3) but I'd be VERY surprised if you don't get the G0. Just order the thing rather than sit and stress about which revision it will be.

Not to mention the 7.5multi.... 450FSB (nearing the board limit) would get you only 3375Mhz.

Q6600 aren't the new G0 :banana::banana::banana::banana:ty overclockers?

they clock like the b3 chips do with some of the new batches but they dont have the b3 heat load

I just bought a Q6600 from Newegg last week, it's a G0 stepping, so go with Newegg if you're worried about getting a B3. Btw, the Q6600 rocks, the Q9300 is only about 5% faster clock for clock, the higher multi and the ability to withstand more voltage of the Q6600 is worth the trade off.

To answer your original question:

Got mine from there, it does 3.6Ghz @ 1.392v so I'm happy. Got it at the beginning of the year though...

Yes, second...

I don't think Newegg has shipped out a B3 since last year, at least.
