Scrape the Bluray burner. You'd rather die instead of seeing 64GB burn so slowly. Ever. :p:

Instead get a fast 32GB thumbdrive or rather, 64GB OCZ Core SSD on eSATA (super flexible).

DDR2 choice agreed. It's definitely Yorkfield's best selling point compared to Nehalem.

You'll be able to use the 4870X2 to encode videos soon so you don't really need to squeeze out every bit.

How about a blue ray reader? I would like to watch full hd video's.I could use a regular dvd burner for burning.

I have a samsung 32inch 1080p in my bedroom and would love to watch some good movies with the girly.

Blu-ray drives make much more sense, they're much cheaper and you lose less money if they wear out.

(What about the SSD? :D)

looks like a sweet rig there disrupt - i am looking to pick up the 4870x2 myself for my tj07 build....will probably wait a couple of weeks to see some more brands come out (and hopefully lower prices). It popped up on Itestate for $650 tonight!!

Get the blu-ray reader so you can view the HD content but I agree that getting a large capacity usb drive would be a better option than the burner.

Blu-ray recordable are twice the price of read only. Unless you really need to burn them now then I'd wait till they get cheaper. Are you likely to be playing blu ray or HD content on your PC? You have a nice big monitor if you want to :) Sounds like a beastie, now what are you going to put it in..........
