Hello XS! :D Back again for another question.

Im going to be overclocking my Q6600 ( Finally made the decision )

Now for the question,

Im debating on to get a Zalman CPU cooler or the Asus Silent Knight AL or Asus Silent Knight II ( Whats the diff. between the two Asus SK's? ).

Thanks!

OCZ VENDETTA 2 and Xigmatek HDT-S1283 are cheaper and better than both :)

Zalman 9500 is terrible, even the AC Freezer 7 pro is better.... not to mention price.

The asus silent knight 2 has copper fins, and the asus al has the Aluminum fins for the disipation. The difference between the two is minimal, the cupper transfers heat better between metals but the aluminum dissipates heat better so. the open box though is a great deal assuming nothing is damaged.

The Zalman also has the copper fins like the asus silent knight

if this is the zalman u were lookin at

then i would go for the asus open box just "assuming everything is great with the product" just because of the awesome deal of 34 bux.

The zalman doesnt specify the CFM, and its also heavier than the asus knight. To me, the asus looks like the better buy.

Hmm I think I might go with the Asus Silent Knight AL , because my case is black and blue so it would match instead of the Asus SK II since there both basically the same as you said.

Do you think it would be enough to cool a Q6600 clocked at around 3.0?

Oh, and I dont really like opened box to much of a chance to take.
