Hi, does anyone know if i also need to use a firewall in addition to my router, or does the router itself provide sufficient protection ?

Thx in advance for taking the trouble to reply :)

Well, for starters, look at my sig and that'll tell you if you're hidden from the internet. I would recommend 1st to go ahead and use Zonealarm on each rig behind the router, just to play it safe.

2nd, if you haven't done so already, make sure you change the default password on the router to one of your own. That default password is the same one given to every router of that make, and hackers know that. They can get in easily if it is left unchanged.

3rd, Welcome to Xtreme

He included the java code at http://www.danasoft.com in his sig. He really doesn't "know" your stuff, the code shows different for each viewer (but you better believe that these forums and any respectable forum knows that in the forum logs anyway - it's needed to admin abusers on IP bans, etc.)
